Hey man thanks a lot for helping outLagrange wrote:The problem with just looping the end is that you tend to get a daaaadadadadada sound instead of daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..
My samples are too short. What would a real pro do?

Sorry, no idea. But WaveLab is rather famous for it's loop-point functionality.kyrre wrote: Would you happen to know if Sound Forge has a similar alternative?

Why not just use a buffer freeze then instead like specMonkyageSt.dll stereo (sorry no link).. I was going to say this b4 but figured you wanted to retain the timbre of the tail..
EDIT: whoops HERE it is.
).. Now if only zplane could do it, it would solve many a length problems.. checking..

MY BAD after doing some extensive searching online I've found that Waves has a plugin called SoundShifter G that does gliding or 0 to x % stretching. Apparently it sounds really natural (better than the algos in Adobe Audition anywayI wrote: Please someone make a gliding stretch plugin..

The language is Norwegian and he's singing about some little girl he wants to be with,ViktorW wrote:Hey Kyrre, that's a great song, the original i mean. What language is it? Do you know what the singer sings about? The song sounds like a creepy lullaby type, maybe some dark tale of a sailor or so. It's cool.
and teach various stuff to, apparently he's all

kyrre & ViktorW for some sick, rare (forgein/domestic) and obscure songs with some crazy loop points, click my sig where it says still dig the ol record crates. The DJ's rotate the tracks really fast so if you don't hear something you like KEEP LISTENING. YOU WILL BE DELIGHTFULLY SURPRISED trust me!!
PM me if you need playlists info..

winamp in windows, mpg321 in freebsd...
anyway as for the loop, it seems kontakt 2 was made for this kind of thing,
i'll post some results as soon as i get the feel to it

this is quite legendaric...Sascha Franck wrote:Would this be sufficient (I could hold it for hours)?

i've tried for hours to accomplish the same thing in kontakt 2 now but with no luck. despite its brilliant look editor mode, there's just too many possibilities to go through---3000 x 3000 time units---that's 9 freaking million, and that doesn't even guarantee that one finds the perfect loop. like sascha franck did.

Dude just use spectral monkeyage (The download link I posted above).. It could not be more simple just find the tail end of sample and choose your FFT size and press FREEZE and there you go..
Heres an example of me 1st getting a nice space in the tail end then using spectral monkeyage to freeze it.. (IM USING AUDIOMULCH BTW). No rocket science here..

You know how people always save the best for last?
Likewise, I'll save your advice as a last resort, as I was kinda hoping I'd be able to pull this thing off using only Kontakt 2. I think I'll have to start a new thread, I'm sorry if this upsets the KVR elders, but the topic of this thread isn't as specific as I had originally intended.
Thanks again folks!

As said, kyrre, I didn't even try to find an even remotely perfect loop point.
I set a rather random loop, applied a tiny little bit of x-fading (this most likely wouldn't even be necessary) and then just used WaveLabs Wave Equalizer to do the magic.
It's really unique and I have never found anything better (or even similar) to do the same sort of job.
Btw, I must say that Lagranges example, while doing something different, is quite astounding, too.

As per your next question

Get it here.. More info here
HTH
I think what I like about Sasha's example is that it sounds like you get to keep the stereo phase (which is kind of important if your xfading into the length piece).. I'm analyzing it now...
L
.. This one will also do a buffer freeze style kinda like SpecMonk..is there anything else?
