Right back at you. I generally wait until the end to thank voters, but since you'll probably be my only vote this time around: thanks for the vote, Hush.

Hey, it's got a download link at least! Thanks. Now reproduced with direct link at:

(Radio updated too)

I'd heard it earlier in the month on the radio, so I knew it was at least Top 10: just needed another listen to know how high it goes! ;)

Thanks for that -m
..and for updating the submission thread also

OK, OK but no cuddles please. I got it in late because I wanted my daughter to do the vocals and she has a life (I remember that) and we kept missing each other. Then we just finished it in a rush so its a bit crap and wouldn't ever have won.:(

It is here http://audio.clockbeat.com/opendownload ... egreen.mp3

and the words are a tribute to misheard lyrics (and South West London):

On the grassy banks of Tooting Bec
A deadly deed was seen
They have slain the Earl of Murray
And Lady Mondegreen

Lady Mondegreen
Lady Mondegreen
'Scuse me while I kiss this guy
Lady Mondegreen

In the darkest depths of Colliers Wood
Here comes a burning light
It's Desmond Dekker singing
"Me ears are alight"

Lady Mondegreen
Lady Mondegreen
Gladly, the cross eyed bear
Lady Mondegreen

Oh how wrong you are Mr Holt!!
This would have been in MY top three, without a doubt. A stunning musical event incorporating some of my all-time favourite 'misheards'.

Atlantis must have been a funky place! Cool beat, even if it's not typical of prog rock, but James Brown's drummer was doing that kind of thing back then, so it's still 70's. The synth leads are definitely prog and the liquid guitars give it a kind of under the sea kind of sound. Interesting choice for the ending with that E.P. coming out of nowhere. I liked it.
Thanks for the review me109.
That's the second review that said this track is "funky." :hihi:
I was rather going for a syncopated drum beat that is often found in hard Prog Rock, instead of the regular 4/4 rock beat. I assure you, James Brown did not come to mind during this recording. :band:
(I'll save that for the next KVR 60's soul song contest!)

Also, the liquid guitars were created with String Theory/Faze CrazeGSE run through a phaser. I did that on purpose to create the underwater effect tying it into a theme for the title "Atlantis."
I so glad somebody noticed and caught that!! I was really pleased with how it came out.

The last chord was actually another String Theory patch - Guitar Dream (not an EP). Wish I could have gone over the time limit by 15 seconds as this patch has a nice echo effect.[/quote]

The whole song actually came about because of the "Wakeman-like" synth lead. I was dabbling around with Oatmeal (the Synth) and stumbled across that patch. After many Labatt Blue's that night, the rest is history. I had a blast making this. Thanks for listening.

Good Luck to all!

Well EV -- a vote from the 'Manudo Boy' isn't all bad -- but I understand -- it's maybe like the 'kiss-of-death'. :(

:hihi:

FTR -- I like your song ;)

Nice track. Would've done well, but no guarantees of victory!

Similar but different story on my track: was going to have the missus play the witch-queen, but she'd secretly decided that she wouldn't measure up to the scratch performance I did for it previously myself. ;)

Whew! I'm almost recovered after rushing to submit my entry at the last minute last night.

This was the first KVR Contest that I participated in, and a huge amount of fun. A prog rock tune in 2 minutes? Madness. Sooooo much work for such a short piece. And it's still not done (are they ever?). But the experience gained was so worth it. Let's have a prog contest every month. That way, in a year, we'll each have an album side. :hihi:

I'm totally impressed by all the entries. I'm looking forward to spending this week listening and relistening and voting at 11:59 next Sunday. :hihi:

And thanks to me109, Marc JX8P, and Echo Voodoo for the kind reviews!
