I recently purchased one of these for the very reasonable sum of £129 and this thing just integraes brilliantly with Reason. You can fix it to a mixer device while using other devices like a keyboard for other MIDI duties, or use the BCF-2000 to control any device in the reason rack.

I assign the BCF to a device in my Reason rack and all the sliders and rotaries just auto-assign to useful parameters and slide into place. Its absolutely superb, very easy and provides a level of MIDI control conveniene i've never experienced before. I think this thing is going to speed me up no end. I'm using it in combination with Live 6 and reason 3.0, and the workflow possibilities are just great. I have my Axiom 49 assigned in Live for playing into Reason devices, and the BCF-2000 assigned in reason for all my hands-on control of parameters.

So i can trigger clips and scenes in Live, it will record the notes through into Reason sequencer and i can record parameters automation into Reason with the BCF, as well as putting automation into clips for recording into reason if i want as well.

I move back and forth throughout the sequencer in Reason and the faders on the BCF move to the reevant position, as well as the endless rotaries LEDs dispaying the position of the parameters they are hooked into. I can move back onto main micer and i sudenly have my 8 faders assigned as 2 groups of 7(for the 14 channels) and the rightmost fader fixed to master volume, with the rotaries assigned to pan. I can also flip these over to control other stuff like aux sends or mixer EQ.

As an investment in a production setup its got a hell of a lot of bang for your buck, its just so intuitive!! Excited rant over :hihi:

I've been thinking about getting one. It has a built-in template for Reason, IIRC. Have you tried setting it up for something that doesn't already have a built-in template? How good are the motorized faders at moving to where they're supposed to be?

I've only had it a few days but its behaved very well so far, the faders appear to go where they're supposed to. I haven't tried setting it up with any other software really, but i can't imagine it'd give you much trouble, in m experience its the host that will determine how easy it is to set up any MIDI conroller.

I guess your best bet would be to buy from somewhere with a 7 or 14 day no-quibble returns policy (this is what i did) and then you can test it and return it if its no good. But on initial testing it really stands as a great piece of kit for the money, i certainly have no plans to return mine, and behringer do a 2 year replacement waranty anyway, so you're essentially guaranteed to have a working unit for 2 years.

Yeah dude... my BCF with Reason is unbelievable. I picked up a BCF used for $100 and it totally made my month when I started using it.

yeah its brilliant hey!!

I think waht i need to do now is sort out some paper templates so i can have an easy reference of which control maps to which slider/pot. Something i ould stick on the wall right behind my desk so i could see at a glance whats what!

The other thing I love using it for is as a controller for B4 2. The faders act as drawbars, while you can map the knobs and buttons to functions such as drive. On top of that, you can plug a foot controller into the BCF to act as a volume control... so many options!

Indeed, i'm going to see if i can set it up with Traktor DJ and get out there and play some DJ sets, its compact enough that i could probably (just about) fit my laptop, Conectiv interface and BCF into a larger backpack.

Lots of fun :)

It sounds like I have to check it out. What led you buy the BCF instead of the BCR? (The BCR is the one with lots of knobs, no faders.)

I use the BCR with Reason and i can say it's a perfect combination. Just great!

I prefer the use of faders for certain tasks, and if i'm perfectly honest, the sheer coolness of the motorised faders moving by themselves certainly helped :)

Also, i wanted to use it for digital DJing and the faders are great for that too.
