Luna PR 8.4 crash -> session file corrupted

Hi,
Luna just crashed for me when trying to save (ctrl-s) a file that was playing. After that Luna won't open the file, it gives a 'Couldn't load session' error message. I might have fumbled and pressed something else than 'y' when prompted for saving over existing file, I'm not sure. The autosave file that was offered after the crash was way older than my last save.
The file had two sessions in it, one made by me and one from an imported midi file. Nothing exotic comes to my mind, but the session file is kind of huge at 2 megs (zipped -> 69kb).
Could there be some way to repair the file? I had put quite some work in that, that is now lost. Nothing critical, though, just annoying. I can send the file, if that helps debugging.
Rgds,
grizzly
PS. Can one change the autosave interval somewhere...?

First thing that comes in my mind is that maybe some vst plugin crashed while saving.
When LUNA saves, it asks plugin per plugin the save data from the plugin, and maybe a plugin crashed while doing this.
Anyway, please email the zip to me, i'll see what i can do.

Grizzly,
I've examined the corrupted musession file you emailed.
I'm 99.9% (read 100%) sure that the crash has been caused by a plugin, while it was saving.
At this point i cannot simply recover the file as i don't have your plugins.
But do keep the file apart, as there definitely is quite a lot recoverable: the full composition, sequences, ... and a couple of racks.
I just should add some kind of "Recover" function that loads the musession file, step by step, and so you could stop loading just before the file is corrupted. something like that.

That would be a great feature! No more lost files....muzycian wrote: I just should add some kind of "Recover" function that loads the musession file, step by step, and so you could stop loading just before the file is corrupted. something like that.

Muzycian,
Thank your for taking the time to investigate the file. It is much appreciated. Some kind of recover function would indeed be helpful in these situations.

Euh, take care: it means that e.g. in case of a vst plugin crash during save musession files can be partly recovered.T. wrote:That would be a great feature! Which is indeed much better than total loss

Ok, I've forgotten to write the word "totally"...
If it's possible to get "only" the MIDI-files from a corrupted session back, this would be much better than losing the complete track!
