Hi i have a wave string sample i would like to sustain.
I add loop points to it in soundforge , but i can't make it sustain smoothly .
Where should i set my loop points in the sample ?
I've read something about crossfading would that help me ?

If you can't get it to smooth out try a forward backward loop.. It's should help.. If your doing a sustain loop there should be an option for smoothing.. or maybe it's a crossfade not too sure about SF..

Thanx lagrange i remember that i once made a forward backward loop in madtracker and it really worked good , but i don't know how to do this in soundforge.
I've been trying to get this smooth looping in soundforge, in the "edit sample" menu but without any good result .Now i will try to loop in vienna and see how it works. Also seamless looper is said to bee a good
looping progam.

I do this in SF 4.5:

1 select area of interest that should contain the sample loop (add silence to sample if at end of file)
2 press L and enter (creates loop region)
3 in tools menu select crossfade loop
4 trim the slider until sounds good (prob at 0% or 100%)
5 save

You should also make sure that you have the 'snap to zero crossing' option active and that you are starting and ending your loop at the same part of the wave i.e. if the loop starts as the oscillation is going up it should also end as it is going up.
