Thanks for the review, glad you liked it! I agree the sound's not entirely 70s... I tried a bit by committing to some what I consider classic sounds like the string synth and the organ but in the end I guess it's still a Marc JX8P song...napalmbob wrote:Marc JX8P - You've done your research. Doesn't sound entirely 70's, but who cares?

Ok, thanks, Legion. I'll try and edit the post.
Legion Hush wrote:Khepira, your 7th vote "In one sixtieth" is Groovesys.
I just helped out with the guitar and bass but Groovesys did everything else.
I'm making this prominent because i don't want people to think i would lower my standards and actually write a prog rock song, hence my dynamite disco song.

Thanks, napalmbob. Glad someone found some good in it.napalmbob wrote:Jonny Quest - Those drums are good. It sounds like a Steve Vai rip off. Therefore, its good.
More importantly, I enjoyed reading ALL your reviews. Takes a lot of time to listen to all the tracks, but to listen fully and write very specific reviews for each and every one is a special contribution, in and of itself, for which many here are likley very appreciative.
Big cheers to you and the other reviewer folks!!!!

Awesome reviews, napalmbob! Made me laugh more than once. And you're welcome, although your review of my particular song was slightly unsatisfying.
great insights, except in your own abilities as a reviewer.

Nah, nobody cares. But we do like to humour each other whenever possible. So therefore, we do care. In a way. I think.napalmbob wrote:Not that anyone really cares, but here's my two cents.
Most lists are. But we keep ourselves happy making songs and then making lists about the songs, and occasionally making lists about songs that did well in other lists. And as long as we're happy and occupied, life's good, no?napalmbob wrote:this list is, once again, pointless.
[note to self: write song about lists of songs]
More seriously, nice reviews, thanks for taking the time to comment on the various entries, including my humble track. Comments are always appreciated.

I wasn't sure if I'd put your song nr.1 cause some of the other songs were more true to the prog rock theme, but in the end I could not resist. This song has been in my head for days, love it! Thanks for the beautiful music

I'm always open to suggestions. There's a book out there called The Book of Lists. Franz has his pic on the inside cover. It too could offer some interesting thematic stuff.duncanparsons wrote:hey a theme of lists could be great.. I'm sure someone would do a song listing the tunes of Liszt accompanied a Liszt tune! There'd be another called 'Brahms..'
Scoops, can this be pencilled in for a month or two's time, just add it to the lis...

I'd like to express my thanks again to those who listened to my song this month and especially to those who voted for it.
The talent and versatility of this group is amazing. While enjoying the creative freedom to be able to play all the instruments and produce the recordings themselves, a lot of so-called "computer musicians" stagnate for lack of contact with others who speak the same language. It's really nice to be a part of this forum. It allows us to keep growing musically, building on the input of others.
