Although we all did our best pretending to sound pretentious
; OK we'll have to accept we're not perfect and have to live with that... At least we have tried...
Pretty pretentious Max... .. .
PS : That's the reason we won't get million-sellers... but lots of fun instead !

It's the cheapest prog I've invested in for years.. I mean over 80 minutes of prog, just like that.. I used to spend far too much back in the day.. I had Arzachel, which thankfully I didn't pay the full £300 it sometimes goes for, but that gives you an idea..
I have a few incandescant ramblings from my notes..
magog [Gentle Trespass]
markleford [o my word]
jamesb [Highly focussed]
Mellotronaut [Giant Belew]
zeoy [Moody Hackett Relayer]
jer1224 [Wishbone Camel]
Kara [Happy The Amazing Gryphon]
Barnadine [Incredible String Giant Tap, with a hint of Angel Delight era Fairport]
Liqih [Kraftwerk's Expanding Jarre]
Stressed [more Nude Camelot than Pinky]
Scamme [Krafty Guitary]
EmeraldTablet [Anthony Hansson]
jplanet [Supper's Knifed]
core [Procul Latimer]
paptomany [National Refugee]
Beardedone [The Sectioned Solution Spectrum]
Sepheritoh [Evangelos Bardens]
I'll post others.. I've gone from just listening to taking notes to condensing notes to just listening.. I can't decide!!

Supper's Knifed! I love it! AT least you picked up on the Supper's Ready homage in the beginning of it...
I am blown away by the number of #1 votes this month! This was a fantastic exercise, the two-minute limit being teh greatest challenge. So much of prog's appeal is when a theme introduced earlier appears in a different context later, almost like a musical theater kind of vibe. It was very interesting trying to achieve that and still obey the rules!
I must go back and thank all when the voting's done...

Thanks for the kind words slartibartfast. I think my entry missed the mark for the theme this month but comments like yours make it worthwhile anyway
(plus I really like the song myself anyway

slartibartfast wrote:core - the snow goose. Simply beautiful piece of music, but with the synthetic drums, and overall sounds, this perhaps is more representative of the early 80's - Jarre or Vangelis would be proud of this piece.

There's a lot of aftertension, though...xander wrote:duncanparsons wrote:What I find quite staggering this month, is that despite it being 70's prog, there's not a whiff of pretension anywhere...
