Glitch when looping in Project5

I got the Cakewalk Project5 sequencer a while ago and was just playing with it. I noticed this annoying thing:
When I loop a part of the arrangement where there is a Zebra track playing, I get a glitch in sound every time the loop jumps back to the beginning. This depends on the selected sounds a bit but the glitching doesn't seem to happen with Dimension Pro or Shortcircuit 2.
Any ideas? CPU usage is pretty low as well - it happens to some extend with a single Zebra playing a light sound.

Nope.
We should get a new version of P5 this month, so the situation might change. But since the other VSTi's didn't seem to have a problem there must be something in it.
By the way, it's not a major glitch - more like a tiny snap/crackle.
There is a big glitch when opening the GUI though.

Ah... ok... then it's the way they count the quarters in a loop... might be a fix eventually...

Okay, would be really good (actually quite important to me) if something could be done about it - IF P5 v.2.5 still has the same thing.
Or is it more an issue that the sequencer makers should fix?
Do you know of other hosts that act that way with Zebra?
I didn't realize that you need to take such things in account...

I think some sequencers might confuse Zebra that way... not sure...
They change stuff every now and then, and my stuff has some requirements... I have to make workarounds...
When the VST standard came up, no-one thought of something as complex as Zebra...

I just wanted to add that the arpeggiator isn't used in Zebra - just to make sure because you were talking about notes.
But I'll look into it again after the P5 update surfaces. The current version of P5 is actually using a VST->DX adapter but the update will have native VST support so it might help, too.

There is a new version of Project 5 that is sopposed to be released in the next few weeks that should address this problem.spritex wrote:I just wanted to add that the arpeggiator isn't used in Zebra - just to make sure because you were talking about notes.

They are revamping completely the the way the sounds are sent to outs. I would not make any changes until you are sure this is not fixed in the new version.
It might have something to do with if you are spooling to the drive for the sound. I know Dimension does not allow for this. This could be thier workaround to this issue.
I have been using Zebra 2 in Project 5 without any issues so far on the sounds doing what you said. I am using version 2.5 of Project 5.
Does the same thing happen in Sonar if you have it?

I don't have Sonar, but it's encouraging that you have tried this with the 2.5 version and don't seem to have the problem! I am very much looking forward to the update for other reasons as well.

Hey Urs, both of these problems seem to have disappeared after I installed ASIO4all 2.8 beta 2 driver instead of the ASIO driver that's from the soundcard company. Apparently the WDM driver for my soundcard is OK but the ASIO not too good.spritex wrote:Nope.

So, people with glitches, try out ASIO4all!
