Parallel Worlds wrote:hello all,
Press Release info follows:
DiN26 - Obsessive Surrealism by Parallel Worlds
Release date 5th March 2007
Parallel Worlds is the main project for the Greek musician Bakis Sirros. He has been active in the Greek electronic music scene since 1998 having performed at several concerts including E-PHOS electronic music festival in summer of 2001, Mad club, Club22 (2nd Summer in the city Festival), Music Day Festival 2006, Small Music Theatre and the Underworld Club. He is also involved with other muscians in collaborative work. The new IDM project "Interconnected" with the German IDM musician Ingo Zobel (of DRON, Signalform, Self Oscillate) and the ambient / experimental project "Memory Geist" with the Australian electronica musician Steve Law (of Zen Paradox, Starseed Transmission).
"Obsessive Surrealism" (DiN26) is his fourth album having previously released "Existence" in 2003 on Greek label Rubber Recordings and "Insight" in 2004 and "Far Away Light" in 2005 both on the UK label Shima Records. He has also had tracks included on several compilation releases.
Bakis is a great advocate of modular analogue instruments and indeed is the moderator for the Doepfer A100 modular users group. He has also been extensively involved with sound design for the UK analogue modular synthesiser company Analogue Systems.
The music of Parallel Worlds is a combination of dreamy, atmospheric textures and pure analogue electronic rhythms and sequences, combining the feel of 70's electronic music with modern electronica and ambient music. Sirros uses huge analogue modular instruments and analogue step sequencers of the past and present combined with digital FM, virtual analogue synths and sampling. However he manages to elude the fate of many of his contemporaries in not falling into the trap of simply recycling the past. He creates a music that lives and breathes, imbued with his own personality and mannerisms. At one and the same time familiar and fresh. Steady, organic rhythmic structures are overlaid with deceptively simple melodies that remind one of some lost John Carpenter soundtrack.

many thanks,
best regards,
Bakis.

Oh, man, I completely missed this postCurois wrote:Hey man, I just listened to some excerpts of your songs on your band's website. I am really impressed! It has a bit of Keane in it, and also a bit of Muse. But it sounds very original nonetheless. If you lived in The Netherlands (where I live) you'd be an instant hit!Watto wrote:Ecliptic's debut self-titled album:
Available as a download or cd from our website. Preview snippets online now!
Keep up the good work. Also, do you ship cd's to The Netherlands?
Will pm Curois as well, but yes, we'll post 'em anywhere in the world, all for the one price

Hey,
this was lots of fun and took more work in the end as me could have ever imagined:

Seriously:
I'm proud to present you the release of the first Thomekk-CD.
It's called "Kleine Hoehle auf dem Berg".
Though nearly all songs were sung in german, I think the music is good enough to give not-german-native-speakers a good acoustic colourplasma for enjoying the stuff
Did my best!!
Please check out the CD here:

My new 15-minute "music film" (o2) is available for preview from this page:
http://www.o2.cjb.net
It's psychedelic visuals that I designed in C++, in sync with an IDM/breakbeat-ish soundtrack-
available on DVD.
Full details follow:
Running time: 14min 59 seconds
Tools used: C++, Tracktion, Premiere, Virtualdub
Music: Matt Bentley
Synopsis: "Complex behaviour can arise from an extremely simple set of rules."
This is the statement which best describes the development and net result of the O2 project- computer programs were developed in C++ using simple algorithms to generate changing 2D graphics. These were gradually mutated over a few months, with more interesting variations being defined as their own separate 'species', and left for further tweaks.
The mutation was done manually as opposed to a according to a predefined random or 'evolutionary' programmatic process,
and candidates were selected on one factor only: coolness.
The end result is an extreme visual and sound display which explores the terror of existentialist extremes: ambiguous nothingness and intensely-definitive chaos. Whirly and changing, the most intriguing form lies between these two extremities.
Hopefully the audience is not overwhelmed by the visuals, or rather that they are overwhelmed to the extent that it is entertaining.

I'm thrilled to announce the full CD release of my first solo album, "Dream Tower Blueprints" - which is now available to purchase online from CDBaby at http://cdbaby.com/cd/harmusic, with digital-download purchases from iTunes and others coming soon.
There are 6 tracks on the album, all of which are processed guitar and Chapman Stick -based instrumentals in the ambient/dark-ambient/soundscape vein, with the main underlying theme being mostly based on dream images from my childhood. Several of these tracks have already been getting airplay on the excellent 24/7 ambient online radio station StillStream.Com. No MIDI or synths were used.
You can hear 2 minute streaming audio excerpts of all six tracks on the CDBaby site - if you have a decent high-speed connection, I recommend using the "hi-fi: broadband PLAY ALL SONGS" option to get a better idea of how things sound, as the lil Flash audio player widgets they have are of really crap audio quality..
"Well, for those who like that sort of thing, I should think it is just about the sort of thing they would like."
-- Abraham Lincoln
Thanks, and enjoy!

Hey Folks,
Long time no see. I'm not going to make this long, I just wanted to let those of you who are interested know that I'm finally releasing a full-length CD. It's available at my site right now and I'm calling it Okay. Actually, if you go to http://amiestreet.com/jeffcaylor you can get the tracks as mp3's (not DRM protected files!). The sooner you download, the cheaper they'll be. In fact, some may still be free if you go now. The way that site works is that as a song becomes more popular, it goes up in value.
As a bonus, I was thinking of you guys when I posted the raw tracks to the album's first song "Almost Flew." You can also download it as a Garage Band file. Remix away! I'll have a couple more song multi-tracks uploaded soon. For now, go to http://www.jeffcaylor.com/remix-me/.
This community has been invaluable in helping me mature as a songwriter, vocalist and producer...
Thanks everyone.

My latest album is now available from:
http://www.synthmusicdirect.com/
Its called Contour and my artist name is 'Takla Makan'.
Its very much in the style of Tangerine Dream, Mike Oldfield, and a bit of Jarre.
You can hear an audio snippet at the above website as well as a rather flattering review.
There's some more audio samples at my own pages at:

the new verstaerker Album "Analogien" is available
It contains Tracks from 2005/6, which predominantly developed with analogue equipment. A Korg Monopoly and a SCI prophet 1 played the basic roles. Heavy bassdrums and distorted basses providing pressure. The whole is surrounded by mystic soundcollages in a minimal garb and provides alternation for the listener. 10 tracks and 78:30 min play time.
The album for couch and dancefloor!
