Hi Blue Cat - I've been thinking a lot lately about how to ask for this feature so I might not have it right yet, here goes anyway...

Recently I have been using some other multi-node compressors comparing sounds and whatnot and really like being able to expand the middle of the transfer curve, at about -30db or -40db or so, so that I have a triangle kind of shape. The top anchor is at 0db 1:1, the bottom anchor is about -60db 1:1 and the middle point is about 1:1.24 or so. Then of course after adding some knee the triangle becomes more of a spline. I can get part of that happening in BC Dynamics except there is no lower anchor.

It would be very useful for me soundwise if Blue Cat Dynamic could do that, mostly for use with the lower curve I imagine. Maybe a switch on the gui that lets me set a lower anchor/value like -60db or something (if there's not room for a knob).

Just a thought - I don't know how hard that would be or if it would be useful in this case. I think it might though! Thanks for considering this!

Wait a minute - I'm a goofball!

I've just found some settings to make the transfer curve shape I want, now let me see what it sounds like...the new settings might sound pretty good.

Well the transfer curve looks nice (kinda parabolic) but is highly compressed instead of expanded...oh well, need to think about this some more.

I think I see what you are trying to do, but it's a bit difficult to advise without the exact settings. Could you maybe post a screenshot of the user interface?

I had to take a break from this for a bit as I wanted to stand back and get a second wind maybe try a new approach. When I get some better details or a better idea about what I'm trying to do I'll be back! It kinda involves 3 curves now that I look at it so maybe that's 2 instances of Blue Cat dynamics...

When you have finished with your experiments, please share you results. It may be worth a tutorial! :)
