Urs wrote:Well, Zircon came up with it while I had a *lot* of stress due to my upcoming holiday, when Z2.1, Filterscape UB, ZebraCM, MFM2 beta and another magware had to be finished. I would have loved to put him up through my store, but it's still a lot of work for me - and ShareIt take their 15% and so do I. So, 30$ (+ VAT if applicable) is pretty much the lowest price possible if you wanna get *something* out of it.

Honestly, when beej and I discussed the pricing I wasn't fully aware of the quality of the package. So I'm pretty happy to be able to sell it for only 30$, which I think is a steal.

Nevertheless, this was not intended to put other efforts down! Vice versa, I want to encourage people to create more sound sets! Zircon's set is really nice, offers full XY setup and 15 bucks are not too much.

Cheers,

;) Urs
That's a shame. :( I ordered Transmission without problems from the Zebra site with my Visa card, but I seem to have a problem paying with Paypal (for Zircon's sounds). They want me to enter a code I can't find anymore.
Tried contacting them, but no luck.

I love the transmission pack, it's really amazing and have already purchased it. The building block presets alone will save me a ton of time.

Maybe zircon can do a $30 volume1 + volume2 setup with you? It's a whole lot cheaper than a fill bank for something like reFX's Nexus and would fill a similar need.

Just throwing out the idea, I think zircon really gets Trance/Dance sounds for Zebra. :)

lsd wrote:These sound pretty good, but it's hard to compete with the new "transmission" zebra bank which gives you over 400 patches for $30. Are you going to give your follow up bank for free to people who buy this one? If so I'll buy it.
Yeah, I'd rather not see it as "competition" but "choice" - my stuff is different stylistically to Zirc's, and if you are really into the trance stuff it seems his bank is ideal for you, and well worth the small amount of money he's asking for it imo.

I'm aware that we priced Transmission very reasonably for the content you get, and this was not done at all to make other efforts at commercial sound banks pointless - it was done to give Zebra users the content that they were expressing they wanted, at a price point where people felt that it was worth it to expand their Zebra and make it more useful to them. It doesn't make other people's stuff too expensive, it makes my stuff too cheap!

And.. well, I kind of like over-delivering, I really didn't want purchasers to be disappointed with what they get.

Seriously, people putting effort into making reasonably priced patch banks is a great thing for the community, and if you guys want to see it continue, it's worth supporting their efforts by stumping up some cash if a bank interests you. And if what you see doesn't interest you, by all means *tell them what it is you want*. We'd love to know what you guys want and don't want, because we all want to make stuff that is *useful* and worth everyone's effort.

Life is good for Zebra users right now, methinks... 8)

pschelfh; I'm sorry that you are having problems with Paypal. You shouldn't have to enter in any code of some kind if you already have an account... I've never had to do that when paying for things. I am however working on a new system for my site (ZenCart or AgoraCart) which should (hopefully) reduce my reliance on Paypal and automate the process.

bmrzycki; When I finish the volume 2 collection of Dance/Electronic sounds, I definitely plan on doing a bundle offer. Perhaps both sets for $25, with previous buyers able to purchase vol. 2 for $10. $25 for 128 unique presets IMO is reasonable. I am spending a lot of time on them to make sure they are high quality and very usable.

Right now I'm a little over half done. I've been busy lately because I've spent a lot of time finishing an album (which, as I've mentioned before, uses Zebra 2 quite a bit) - now that I'm done with it I can focus on these sounds again.

Two banks of trance/dance zebra music for $25 sounds darn tasty to me! Good luck on finishing your album :)

Here's to more Zebra goodies! :tu:

Good to hear.

I already have an account and it worked at the start up to a certain transfer limit. Then they wanted me to enter a code that was listed on one of my Visa account overviews. I never found this though and now they seem to have blocked my Paypal account.
I understand this is some kind of security but they shouldn't make it so difficult to fix it.

When i ordered Transmissions, share-it and PayPal were both stymied by my credit card company's security measures. And I had to enter those extra fileds with the credit card company as well.

Apparently a US account buying anything from off the No American continent is deemed suspicious. After trying numerous times I finally followed the written statement and called my credit card company and they cleared the block and that allowed the next transaction to go through.
If any of this sounds familiar, I'd suggest calling your credit card company.

Hmm great leads and poly sounds..only one bass sound demoed in the mp3 and that wasn't so hot..

So I'm about 40 sounds into the second volume.. lots of good stuff IMO, I've been just playing with some of the patches (eg. "Nebula Pad", "Hollow Sky SEQ", "Breakdown Lead") for the last few days and I think they're really usable.

However I'd like to hear some input on what kind of sounds you guys want. If there's a synth you heard in a song you like, link the MP3 and I'll see if I can make something similar, for example.

quantize; Sorry I didn't see your post before. Vol 1 does have a good variety of bass sounds, for example "Dirty DNB Bass" is the kind of edgy, turbulent sound you hear in lots of modern dnb tracks. "Fingered E-Bass" is basically a physical model of a real electric and great for soloing. "Fretless" is a nod to the famous M1 bass sound of the same name.. got any new age tracks? "PHD Square Bass" is an emulation of a sound The Crystal Method used in their song "PHD" which is just enormous and powerful across the whole spectrum. etc. If you are on the fence I can zip up just the bass sounds and send them to you to see what you think.

Vol 2 (so far) has about 8 bass sounds, probably won't do any more than that, but I've already used 4 on several remixes + commercial tracks w/ no editing. I wouldn't include them if they weren't good. :)

So far from your first demo mp3 and songs from Antigravity, you seem to have hit a lot of the big beat and edgier/grittier trance styles. Do you have any leads or pads that'd be suitable for more mellow trance? I'll try to find something in my mp3s that's more what I'm thinking. Basically it's leads that don't scream but still sit well in the mix.

That and crystal method style patches (keep hope alive comes to mind) are always welcome.

Just my 0.02.
