Um, btw.......is this the longest thread............or was there something else.......something different.......hmmmm........what was that again..........?

Man, I won a free copy because of this thread, but I am still patiently waiting for the darn thing to be released.

This is the first time somebody releases a software specifically targetted at a musician's rig, and let alone Jimmy Hendrixe's rig.

It also has the Jimi Hendrix Authentic certification...do notice however that to me, that doesn't meen much since I see it more as the greedy family of Hendrix looking out for more money. I dont think IKMM could have done it without their blessing though. or they would have gotten their ass sued.
a. I don't quite understand

b. a free copy........I hate you! I couldn't even get a teeshirt for a groupbuy when they SAID I'd get one............uuuuuurrrrrgggggg.

c. Yes, they would have been sued......um, though for some reason, I am far more interested in this than at2........Not quite sure why actually.......just a thing.....ya know?

d. I have no money......I spent the last of my cash on svx and DP and NI fm8.......I'm broke in the "new product" catagory..........so it doesn't matter!

Btw, what a f**king stupid nonsense is that JH edition anyways? Mr. Hendrix went out and used what was there. Now it's up to YOU to go out and USE what IS there (and that's a lot more than what was available when Hendrix lived).
Ah, I see, you want to sound like a friggin' clone - well, have fun with it!

Really, absolutely ridiculous marketing bullshit, nothing else.
And, from some "first ear listening" (at Musikmesse), it doesn't make you sound like Hendrix at all anyways. At least the demonstrator didn't sound like Hendrix by a mile. And you'd assume he'd try hard, no?
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Sascha, I don't think that anyone here is trying to be a Hendrix clone per say. In my case what I am after is to get a tone similar to his using emulation of the equipment he used because I am not rich enough to buy the list of equipment he used. Not every one could afford to purchase a 1,200$ pedal and the software has a bunch of them, to re-create Hendrix tone and to create your own tones using a decent collection of vintage gear.

As far as the Musikmesse and the way the software sound, I cannot comment on that since I haven't had the chance to audition any "decent" performance by Amplitube JHE. The only ones I heard had poor sound recording which made judging the quality of the software a tricky affair.

I would as well assume that the guys at Musikmesse would be trying really hard to showcase the software as it's best. I am a bit dissapointed to hear that you tought that it wasn't "all that".

The way I look at it is this, I really dig AT2. If AT2JHE is as good (which I can't see why it wouldn't), great! I'll consider it an expansion set. Basically, I'm just going to ignore the JIMI HENDRIX portion of it, and just look at like more amps/effects. To do anything else, would be to dishonor what Jimi was all about in the first place. Let's face it: even it was an exact clone of Jimi's rig, it wouldn't make you sound or play like the man. Therefore, the only real option is to look at it as though it's a few more tonal options.

Agreed. I think no one can sound and play like Hendrix, even if they wanted to.

Man, I am getting excited thinking of the release, *cough*, this month of the software...In part because I won't have to pay for my copy :)

I am so broke, I am still saving for that 99$ StealthPlug.

2 weeks to go....

That's all why they should've been a little more creative, then. It would've been less expensive and more respectful to just allude to Hendrix rather than name him directly (like it was a damn signature edition or something). Like the Captain Coconut pedal from aNaLoG.MaN - Hendrix fans still know what it is when they hear the name...they could've called it the AmpliTube Experience Edition or something.

Me too...I'm just diggin' getting an expansion. I couldn't sound like Hendrix if I tried anyway...not enough soul or talent

Sascha, who's to say that you couldn't use all this stuff to create your own sound? I mean, it's really tweakable.

I'm sure the demonstrator was indeed trying to "sound like Jimi" but there's the fault. He ain't Jimi and Jimi wouldn't be trying to sound like that today.

I like what I can do with AT2 and I like the additions.

You're not gunna buy it and you're a better guitar player than me by a freakin' country mile. But let us old, nostalgic guys have our fun, eh?

BTW, what do you think ABBA would be doing today? Yes, that's a really smartass comment but I think it's valid. Aren't you doing an ABBA clone?

So what is the difference? And again, I am NOT in your league but because of the clone comment, I think it's a valid question. Hey, we all gotta eat, right?
Play what you feel and feel what you play.

BTW, don't change the title of the thred, it blasphemous

guitarzan, Jimy Hendrix "Authentic" somewhat gives more credibility to the product then plain "experience"....to most people

I am pretty sure that the Hendrix estate managers, altough clueless on any notion of music whatsoever, were delighted to sell Hendrixe's name for that product, and to be honest, if one product deserves the Hendrix name it should at least be something god damn related to guitars, not a dumb energy drink!

I am not offended at all by IKMM carrying the Hendrix name, for a product that is supposed to emulate his gear.

Fixed. I owe Jimy at least that much ;)

BTW, even though the Hendrix estate is certainly interested in the dinero, they do have at least some integrity to maintain. Otherwise, their "authorized" means diddly-squat.

Marketing people know that.
