well... preset scrolling with keyboard works great in logic until you change the focus to logic. then i have to close zebra and reopen the window to be able to scroll with the arrow keys again :/

I'd have to say now that I've had the Transmission Soundset for a couple days, I'm very impressed. The best word I can use to describe it is, beautiful! There are alot of really great versatile patches in there.
I started making alot of patches myself that used the xy controllers, but this really helps me to get ideas on how to use them.

I really like the templates, they are great starting points and already have xy controllers assigned which is really great.

The mseg presets also got me using the MSEG's which I hadn't wanted to dive into before because it seemed like more hassle than it was worth, though now I see myself using them all the time.

Basically this bank opened up the possibilities of Zebra 2 for me, I think I'll be using it for alot more. This bank is well worth the $30 I spent on it...and then some.

Thanx Beej!!! I can truly say that this is one of the most amazing soundsets I've ever had the privy to use ;)

Hope to see more from you in the future!!! :D

Yes. The keyboard focus must be on the preset browser...

I was merely thinking of a "keyed preset browse mode" where presets could be switched with the lower 5 keys (C - E) of a keyboard. C# & D# for preset up/down, C & D for bank up/down and E for FX on/off. That way one doesn't even need have the editor open...

What you think?

Not cool for users with small midi keyboards!

Is there a way of recapturing focus on the preset browser without having to close zebra and reopen it? Just clicking on the preset browser window doesn't work for me in Logic 7.2.3

Post

Urs; I think that would be a nice option to add, but maybe in addition to something with the typing keyboard...
Shreddage 3 Stratus: Next generation Kontakt Player guitar, now available!

Impact Soundworks - Cinematic sounds, world instruments, electric guitars, synths, percussion, plugins + more!

Yes, an addition...

Still not sure on how to consistently implement the keyboard stuff... with all those hosts that intercept keys even if focus is explicitely set...

Well, there is one thing that could be improved: Zebras module patch selector could be wider:

(Same for MSEG.)

Or is there something I've missed in Zebra2 / OSX 10.4.9?

Greetings,

Someday I'll look back on all this and laugh... until they sedate me.

Yep, seen that as well.

Beej actually bugged me about it for ages and now that we have Transmission out I'll eventually do something about it

Zebra 2.2, I assume? ;-)

Excellent, I was hoping that Transmission would do that, at least for some users anyway. There's some interesting little techniques in many of the patches, and by diving in you will hopefully discover lots of cool stuff, as I did when making them ;)

You're welcome, and thank you for the props! 8)

Is there any chance for some instruction on how to use the Transmission set. I am not having much success. I listened to Beej's incredible demo and though that I could get some the sounds. But I have got not anywhere yet. This is more than a bit frustrating.
