Autopan?

Is there a way to do autopanning with a VSTi that doesn't have this feature in Luna Free?

The panning you're talking about would apply to the audio output of the VSTi. You can automate the pan controls on a mixer strip. Set up a new Sequence Part and assign it to the mixer strip the VSTi's output runs through. Then go into the sequence editor, pick the right Control automation target and draw the curve in. Set the loop end and part length and away you go!

Hummmm. Do I have to setup a new sequence part or can I do it in the same sequence as the Synths' midi part? Do I route it to the synth, rack, or strip? I've done it all three ways and I can't hear any panning going on.??? Since the faders on the racks are only mono and not stereo I can't visually see panning going on either.

Notice I said "controls", plural. There's a pan for the left and right channels of an audio strip. (I'm in Linux right now or I'd be more help!! Jo - make it work under Feisty, okay..?
) If you're using a Rack, then I think you might be able to use a single Sequence Part but I can't remember exactly... I'll try to remember to have a look when I reboot... Have a poke around with right clicking and looking to see what targets are available...

I've tried different targets in the same rack after drawing in my panning with the pencil but I'm not hearing any responce but I've also noticed another anomaly: I went into a part to correct a few knob turns on a CC and I'm not hearing what I draw in.
Can anyone come up with the exact procedure for drawing in an autopan on a sequence part?

I've just tried it and it appears to work.

This is a trivial session just using the Metronome sound and some automation curves. If you watch Rack 1, you'll see the panner being affected. If you look in the Sequence Part, you'll see it's targetting the Rack itself. (It could target the mixer strip, instead, I think, but this way other automation can be included in the same part.)
However, I hear no panning... Hmmm... Maybe because the automation is too silly, maybe because the Metronome is a mono source, I'm not sure.

With some more meaningful test data (i.e. a stereo source), the pan effect seems to work fine for me.
