oldguy wrote:One other suggestion, Jo - make it a little more clear between 'Remove' a vst(i) versus 'Pull from rack.' It would be relatively easy for a newbie to pull a bunch of effects from the rack and not realize that they're still running in the modular space. And if I highlight a vst(i) and press the delete key, I'd like to make it go away...
Huh? If I understood this right, you don't have to be a complete newbie to do that mistake... I haven't realised this difference, and I think I have gladly used 'Pull from rack' when in the Rack/mixer view.

Gotta check that tonight to see if I have loads of stuff still running that don't show up in the Rack view.

ok a couple more wishes:

i want a knob or slider in the modular area that you can use to send continuous controller data to anything, and any hardware knob can be set up to control it. this would basically pass along your cc data and make it easy for newbs to connect one of their hardware knobs. perhaps you could cycle through the available cc# on the gui. maybe even have multiple configurable outputs for one knob. i must say i like to control many things across the mix with one value if possible...

a way to reverse the polarity of the hardware association to its target would also be handy.

perhaps a scaling plugin would be cool? it would let you pick out the sweet spot and let you use your whole fader length for it?

forgive my ignorance, but is there a way to map audio to/from any of many outputs/inputs available with your particular asio driver, or is that yet to be?

i would love a way to turn an entire group of plugins on/off in an arrangement or live for that matter.

im having fun and this is easy. i like this software because now there is the promise of custom configuration.

thanks for hearing me

wow after all of that activity, this forum sure has been quiet the last few days...

was it something i said? :hihi:

No, dude, I don't think so. Some are happily making music. :band2: Some are too busy to get near the studio (guess which group I'm in :(). And Jo is cooking up some new secret sauce to make us all smile. :)

Yep, don't worry. And i've read the suggestions, thanks. Just need to focus now on some things ;)

And at some point there's got to be a definition of when 1.0 will be "ready"..! :D

Here's one more echo of the many thumbs up for Luna's evolving path. Thanks esp for the recent tempo split and midi effect support.

This is just a little something, and I may be off on it at this end, but... alt/drag seems to make a new sequence as it can be assigned its own rack but the sequence cannot be renamed.

On the other hand, audio alt/drag copies seem rename nicely.

Post

This recently changed:

Now:

control+drag = ghost copy
shift+control+drag = real copy

You can always assign another target to a part as the target is set for the part, not for the audiofile or sequence!

Missed that, thanks!

hi Jo :)
any chance for those nifty MIDI editing options or a loop editor like in the old lady?
the modular window sure looks wicked :)

take care

Which ones do you think about (preferrably sorted per whish-factor ;) )
or a loop editor like in the old lady?
On the whishlist :)

It's "wish" ;)

Looking forward to the next version. Here's hoping I get out of this laziness and get some music done with it though! :O

short list of features that make the old muzys kinda irreplacable for me:

-loop composer - ability to cycle loops of different length together
-sequence menu - position, length, velocity and transpose dialogs allowing editing multiple events at once with a choice of absolute, relative (percentual) or random change.
- sequence menu - key shaker, key replacer and reverse
- muzynth's sampler - ability to use multiple markers/loop points ie allowing using the same sample with different start/end or loop settings per patch
- muzynth's sampler - tight integration of an excelent beatslicer, for example allowing for using extracted groove for other sequences
- ubiquity of direct MIDI input dialogs, allowing entering values quickly from musical keyboard

PS. if you plan writing muzynth-like sampler, making start/loop/end points modulatable with an option of snapping to 0xing would open a world of possibilities including ensoniq transwave or waldorf wavetable like stuff :)

You can +- do so with LUNA by combining the composition loop (aka Cycle) and the sequence loops.

Anyway, i agree that a specialized loop composer is easier = more fun :)

Most of these functions are already there :)
- sequence menu - key shaker, key replacer and reverse
On the wishlist (thanks Drenholm for the spelling hint)

- muzynth's sampler - tight integration of an excelent beatslicer, for example allowing for using extracted groove for other sequences
Very high on the wishlist!
- ubiquity of direct MIDI input dialogs, allowing entering values quickly from musical keyboard
Added to the wishlist ;)

this equals +- to setting a loop in song composer in muzys, isn't it?
this isn't exactly the same experience if one is using let's say a loop 8 bars long, another one 3 bars long, another 5 bars long and then a sequence with automation that is of yet another length ;)
(can't help it, i love syncopation and polyrhytms)

glad to see that luna is taking such a nice shape, take care :)
