Hi all,

As you might know, latest versions of my stuff don't run on Receptor. That is because I put some stuff in C:\Program Files\u-he\ for various good reasons - only, this doesn't work on Linux.

Thus here's a new beta of Triple Cheese that not only fixes the first batch of bugs but also allows an installation solely in the Vstplugins directory:

http://www.u-he.com/TCWin190407.zip

If you select the option "resources in Vstplugins", everything that normally goes to Program Files/uhe/ now goes to Vstplugins/u-he/Triple Cheese.data/ including gui files, presets etc.

Please let me know if it now works on Receptor and/or if there are other scary/amazing side effects.

Thanks,

;) Urs

I don't have Receptor, but I'll certainly let you know if anything funny happens in Windows XP....

Tested in Ableton 5.2.2 on Windows XP. I can now save comb on/off states as well as FX and LFOs.

Kind of makes me wonder if any of the factory patches were meant to have something off that isn't saved. I scrolled through quite a few and didn't see any presets with something (be it an LFO or an FX or a comb) set to off...

Can't test any of the receptor functionality as I don't have one.

I installed triple cheese on Receptor.
It installed ok, instantiate fine, in edit page displays ok but it seems not to load any presets, that are only displayed in a green page when preset field is selected, and even if the preset name is loaded into the central field, (just the same if this field is clicked on), TCheese seems to remain at the default preset/sound generation.
Furthermore, the factory bank seems to have no preset inside.
Dropping .fxp from windows folders into "drop installers here" folder good installs and fit them into new bank, then can be loaded fine in standard receptor way.

Excerpts from the Triple Cheese License:

u-he Triple Cheese is a freeware plugin instrument for VST (Win & Mac) and Audio Units (Mac). You can use it for making music. And you can pass it on to your friends, clients, customers and/or aunties unless you charge them money for doing so.

The author (Urs Heckmann, u-he.com) grants anybody to use it (Triple Cheese) in the way he (you, who's reading this - or should be) wants, as long as following requirements are met:

You may not

....

- ask for permission to redistribute it with hilarious amounts of bureaucracy, such as often comes up with magazine cds

...

In short:

Do what you wanna do with it for your own fun, but if you do anything else than music in a commercial manner, better ask for permission. Just, don't bother me with ridiculous contracts or anything.

Enjoy,

...

And, I did (enjoy reading the license agreement -- there's a first for everything!). :hihi:

Sure.
However it's hard to avoid to click and select the preset directly from the central field, it shows-seems-and-diplay to load it (in the pop up menu too) when selected by this "usual" way, but the preset isn't concretely loaded, so this confuses the user a bit.
Maybe could be useful a way having two steps for installing the pluging: the first dedicated to the dll and data only, the second for presets, better if pre-prepared as .fxb or .fxp to be installed separately into the Receptor.

Post

i prepared a .fxb file with dmBankMaker and dropped it into the "drop installers here", it installed but when opened in receptor by load buttons the bank is empty, so probably each preset is to be installed dropping it as a single preset (.fxp) instead of a preset bank (.fxb)

Post

nl3, you can not make banks from 3C's presets...

Now, I have *no* idea what "drop installers here" means.

All I know is, once upon a time my engine worked on Receptor, but it stopped doing so after I switched to installers that installed stuff in C:\Program Files\u-he\ - so, by removing the latter condition I thought it should work...

Ok... at least the presets show up.

One question: How do you control Receptor - is there a mouse & monitor attached to it or do you remote-control it from another computer?

Post

Receptor is controlled by remoting from a windows pc

Yeah. I guess to fully understand what exactly happens I need to contact one of Muse's developers.

It's a bummer that one can't find any serious specs on their website :x

I'll happily find workarounds here and there, but I'd love to know what to look out for.

Hmmm.

Post

I done an .fxb file taking .fxps from the TC window preset folder and "compacting" them into an fxb using dmBankMaker, so dropped the resulting .fxb file into the drop installers here folder on receptor (the same to update Receptor Os)
Due to my working schedule, i didn't test TC furthermore during the day, hoping to spend some time on it as possible (tonight).

No big news. Just, that Triple Cheese beta works on Receptor.

Gotta fix some more little bugs and then get out an update...
