...AFAIR it's a synthedit creation so there's not much chance of it being ported to osx either.

The core is written in C/C++ - Somewhere that's mentioned on his site - I guess he uses Synthedit to simplify creation of the user interface. So, it would need someone to write the UI for OS X. For sure the core would need to be updated too (especially to run on PPC) but that would probably be relatively minor.
