Well, we already waited 3 months for it, one month past the original deadline, and had been told it would integrate into AT2. It takes IK Multimedia forever to release anything, and now that it seemed like the wait was finally over, in truth it has only just begun. Now who knows how many more months of "patience" will be required just for ATJH to be able to do what everyone thought it was going to do right away. It obviously isn't going to be until after the Sampletank 2.5 update, and well after it, in all likelihood. It probably won't even be until after the release of Stomp I/O. They should have had an update for AT2 lined up for concurrent release with ATJH so they would work together immediately. Honestly, IK Multimedia needs to fire their project manager.beergeek wrote:Patience Grasshopper, Patience

Yeah that sucks, I hope there will be another demo so we can test the JH edition inside AT2.Muzik 4 Machines wrote:shit we have to wait the update it's not included

Ok, I'm a fanboy but I think what I'm about to say makes sense, YMMV.
So, they say released at the end of April and they do it. Now, we're gonna crap on them because it doesn't integrate yet with AT2.
So...would you rather they didn't release and have it integrate off the bat OR release and have it integrate later.
The integration is an AT2 update, not an ATJHE update. Why should they hold up the product because it doesn't integrate with an existing product? It works fine on it's own.
Me, I'm gonna test the demo and if I like it, I'm gonna buy it KNOWING that eventually, it will integrate. Why do I feel confident in that?
ATJHE is based upon the AT2 engine and they have made it so SampleTank can load other SampleTank based plugs.
I'm guessing that along with this, you might even be able to integrate AmpegSVX into AT2 at some point, sweeeet!
Damn...sounds good to me. Plus, they have a history of FREE updates. Not to mention one of the best algo verbs going.
So wanna know why I'm a fanboy? I'll tell you anyway
Because I have yet to be disappointed with any IK OR SR product.
Sure Squidsy is a salesman. We all gotta eat. But I can't think of a lot more companies (IK, SR and eSoundz) that I can say I've been totally pleased with the end result. He's also sellin' good shit. I've said this before. The dude is a pretty incredible musician/producer/whatever in his own right. Check out the Kevin Gilbert stuff. He would use this stuff even if he wasn't associated.
And with all my fanboy-dom, you'd think I'm getting special treatment. That's the best part. I am. But so is everyone else who buys this stuff from Dave and crew.
If you're still reading, vote for my damn demos, 'k? (see sig)

The real deal is they shouldn't have announced squat. It's not the project manager that should be fired. It's the marketing manager.redshift factor wrote:Well, we already waited 3 months for it, one month past the original deadline, and had been told it would integrate into AT2. Their marketing is brilliant. The problem is they have absolutely no project coordination. The announcement isn't the issue either. The issue is AT2 is not ready for ATJH yet, and won't be for months to come. Premature ATJH announcement or not, this would still be the case either way. A well planned product rollout would have released these things together so that ATJH had full functionality from launch. The update doesn't need to be comprehensive. It doesn't need to add midi control to the standalone version or anything like that in this critical update. It just needs to be able to recognize and load the new modules if ATJH is present.

As a developer, I can tell you that brilliant marketing gives me heartburn. I can tell the marketing guys, looks like 3 months before we get xyz implemented and the next thing I know...we have to release because some marketing "genius" promised corporate that we would launch.redshift factor wrote:Their marketing is brilliant. So if you already own AT2 (full version), the crossgrade is $199?
If that's the case, I'll say no thanks. I really like Amplitube 2, but that's too stiff a price for extra models,IMO. YMMV

Well, whoever is to blame, the bottom line is IK Multimedia isn't going to get their big initial sales bump from the ATJH rollout hype, since most AT2 users are going to wait on the integration update.

I have to hand it to IKMM. They did release the product before the end of the month!
That and the removal of the dongle shows me that IKMM is on the right track.
Now there I fire the demo and I do some tests
