What to do if plugin info persists after clearing the Cache?

This is part of my ongoing saga to get EVE 2 working on Receptor however I know it applies to other plugs.

Does anyone know a way to clear out any reference whatsoever to a plugin if clearing the cache (holding down MULTI and press POWER x3) does not clear things out completely?
