I noticed that the Portamento control resets itself when you close and the reopen the project. Other than that, this is a great synth for $0. Thank you to the programmers!

1) Ashtray
2) Beer/wine/beverage of choice
(although you need to have a flashy synth stand that will enable you to tilt the Juno back at an angle to avoid spilling of aforesaid beverage of choice all over the keys).
3) Sick Reeces that f**king kill people when sent through guitar pedals.

Can the plugin do that?
fixed :hihi:

I got that one and its quite good :D Its just an organ type thing. RS - 57 retro synthesizer.......mmmmmm..... :D

If it is as any good as Flintlock's RS-57 I would certaintly like a copy of Flintlock's Juno 106. Can anyone can direct me to it?

What do you guys think about the BrainSlayer Juno Emu?
It looks very nice but very weak sounding.

That sound came from the alpha juno...

Since the VSTi has no chorus unit, I'll throw up some bass sounds later today from a real 106 to give you an idea of what it's capable of. I would be interested to see what you Flintlock 106 users can come up with in that department. It's really a shame that the Roland chorus units are still such a mystery machine for virtual emulation. I've yet to hear a digital chorus that even comes close. It added to the 106's sound immensely.

check out the new Vintage Chorus in Orion Platinum, its modelled directly from a real Juno chorus.

I allways thought the 106 sounded bad compared to the Juno-6 or even 60

They are amazingly close aren't they? It is in fact the other way around - odd bars are the real Juno, even bars are the plug-in. I'll try and do some basses with both and do the comparison again.

...ah, thanks  - any convincing emulation of that one?

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Sorry to whoever did that MP3, but to me that just shows up why it's such a sad thing for anyone to want to emulate a 106 in the first place. That was a simply horrible cheesey bread and butter sound that almost any Synthedit job can make. So many Juno sounds like that one are so mind-numbingly bland, with a capital B, that it goes to show that myths are myths. 106s are sought after only because they are sought after by someone else. They are and were a cheap 1st analogue synth and somehow or other, the myth arose around them that they are therefore desirable. In the same way here on KvR you can read that every pro engineer uses secret magic tricks like sidechaining everything....which sorry to pop the bublle...they don't. And for those that don't have a 106 - save your money, they aren't much cop and never were. They were just cheap and Roland made lots of them and they sold well for only those two reasons.

Again, I'm sorry, but that MP3 just made me laugh like crazy. It was awful. :hihi: (not the playing or the tune etc - the sound.) Who cares which was the real thing...they were both awful.

Well, the MP3 wasn't meant to be taken seriously in its own right for a minute but I'm glad it provided you with some form of entertainment!

Yes they are both awful, but they're awful in the exactly the same way. Since I own a real 106 I should really have devoted a bit more time to this and A/B compared a range of timbres, but didn't bother since this plug-in isn't generally available anyway. I was more than convinced after a few initial experiments.

Well said. I agree the Juno sound isn't exactly awe-inspiring, I love mine to bits but never actually use it on a track. It's a lovely old piece of history that I didn't have to sell a kidney to buy.

I too can take any synth, set up some cheesy as hell presets and make it play a cheesy to begin with tune poorly. The fact is though, that the Juno-106 is one very fine sounding synth. Yes it's not incredibly sophisticated, but it has its own character and it's very usable. Nope, I haven't heard any emulation that sounds like it.

people who don't see why the junos are sought after are missing the point. The point is that the parameter ranges on the junos are all sweet spot, and they have a slider for every function. You could let your dog program it and he'd still be unable to come up with a "bad" sound.
