UniWire and Acid 5???

Ok, I need a little help in understanding how to use this uniwire works. I am coming up with blanks on how to patch this through to acid 5, and maybe this is not possible. If a work around is possible that would be great, but I cant seem to find any info to suggest it is. Acid 5 seems to sucks at midi (always seems late and quantized), but I use the audio recording feature quite a bit. If not acid cant be used, I could use a few suggestions of a few freeware based programs out there that will work, and i need a little explanation (if possible) about the routing. I don't completely understand how the routing works. Do you send midi into the computer program that routes the info into and back out of the receptor into the program that then either records the midi or the audio. Oh ya, i need to be able to record at least the audio. I am a bit lost, and could use a little help in getting it all straight. Sorry for such a newbie question, but i am just that. A bit of a newbie. TIA
