Hi
Well this is a basic question i am using cool edit pro and want to press the button record then go on my little chair and record so i want to preset a time from the moment i press the record button and from the moment it really record
Can someone help me, i used to know how to do in the past but well i really forgot that thing

Post

Couldn't you just edit the recording afterwards?

Post

well the thing is that i record alone the record room is close to the computer but not that much so i just need 2 or 5 seconds to sit with the headphones and record my second track for example. Is it not to possible to preset it before ?? i wish that it could be possible

Is there no count-in with cool edit?

What about getting an extention lead for your QWERTY keyboard?

Post

if there is a count in i'd like to know where i did not found it
in fact i only need an extension for the mouse but i don't thing that there is something like that. Are u sure that there is not a possibility like that i remembered in the past that it was possible...

loop record and let it play through the first time, which will give you plenty of time...but you should be able to set up a loop region then move the cursor to a couple measures before your loop to start as well...;)

no you're not and I do exactly what I said...however I do not have cepro, but I do have auditon from version one which was suppose to be cepro and I'm pretty sure I could do it on that.

ok i ll try to do that can u explain me more in details step by step

i've never used cepro so i'm not much help! But I have 2 suggestins. 1) get a cordless mouse, they're pretty handy anyway (enough wires hanging around my desk already). 2) use the transport keys on your keyboard to start/stop the recording, or are you using "real" instruments?

Post

for the keyboard, the cable is not long enough , for the mouse it sounds good, is there a limit for the infra red or cordless whatever thing?
but so there is no a possibility to press the record button and have like 3 seconds of pause?

Post

I wouldn't get IR, needs clear line of sight to work. The range is around 6ft for the RF cordless mice/keyboards. If you're interested just google "rf mouse". Or get a cable extender, much cheaper. Hopefully someone will tell you how to set up the preroll though.

Move the recorded tracks forward 5 seconds.
