Let's try Microdicer!

"you can splits samples into as may 128 different slices , samples can be sliced using automatic beat detection, into equal parts or at a set number of beats"
Your post got me looking for the samething again myself. I'm checking it out now.
Thanks!

FXpansion Guru can slice into equal 16ths and automatically assign to 16 pads. It's MPC inspired inspired to the core. Highly recommended!

The slicer in FL Studio can do that.
Another option and the one that resembles a hardware sampler the most would be to take a regular sample player that can load multiple samples.
Load the samples you want to use with multiple copies of the same sample for every key you want to use, repete process until all of your samples are loaded.
Then just edit each sample to where you want it to start.
That's another way of doing it and that will allow you tro map all your samples out on one plugin.

Microdicer - Simple and straigh forward. I like it alot. Dicer is definately and nice sampler I really like them alot but I'll would never use all the features of Dicer when I'm just chopping samples. I don't know... I definately buying one of em though.
BTW - FreeDice did nothing for me.

Both Dicer and MicroDicer have wave and midi so you could put your slice into another sampler. I have Sampletank and could use it's Stretch Engine for Pitch/Time stretching.

Liveslice does look cool and I'm going to try it. Does it support exporting slices as individual wav files?

LiveSlice is not bad, has limited options though. Like there is no "cut-itself" or similar function for the slices. This is important for this kind of playing back slices freely, because mostly I don't want them to overlap. Of course if LiveSlice has that option and I just don't know it, please correct. That would be almost perfect.
MicroDicer is nice(r) but hosts only 1 sample as I can see, can't switch between samples.
Now I am messing around with GURU - and I think I am very close to the solution... They probably had in mind the MPC developing this Software. I'll let you know!
Anyway, any better suggestions would still be very appreciated!!

Ableton Live is the DAW I am using already....
GURU is almost PERFECT for what I was looking for, except that I can't find a way to turn off one-shot :(
Any idea?

Live 6 new is like $499. You can buy a used mpc1000 for that much maybe a little more. I'm saving up for one.
Chopping like in that youtube can be exhausting. The mpc does it automatically and spreads it across the pads...
