Hi folks,

In an effort to increase the popularity of SynthMaster, we are starting a new campaign today. All we are asking from you folks is to use SynthMaster and share your experience with the rest of the forum users in this thread.

Once you post a comment and participate in our poll, you will be entered into our drawing. One in every 10 forum users who post comments in this thread will win a SynthMaster licence from us. The drawings will take place weekly, and we will announce the winners here on Sundays. The winners will be PMed regarding their licences.

Have fun with SynthMaster, and best of luck to everyone

KV331 Audio

PS1: Posting more comments doesn't increase one's chance.

PS2: Only users who were members of KVR prior to June 10th 2007 are eligible for the drawing ( = new users after June 10th are not eligible)

I don't even try to keep up with all of the synth VSTs, so I'm in the "what's this?" category :) I'm checking out the web site now.

I've tried the demo. I thought it was a nice, clean sounding synth.

Would love to use, but it doesn't run on my Mac yet ...

Tbh. I hadn't heard of it before (which puts me in the first category). Looks nice, good feature list. I'll be giving the demo a try.

I'd like to convince a friend (currently into creating games) to switch to building audio instruments. He's a coder so he could create custom modules.

I tried out the demo for PC but since I am slowly moving everything over to Mac, I had to hold off.

It is a great synth with a TON of capabilities

If you haven't heard it, damn you are missing out . It is very much like a competitors (NI) ab synth . I like the structure , the layout is nice, easy to use . The sound is phenomenal! Right out of the gate, it sounds very full and warm . It can do all the classic stuff (moogish) and then throw it into overdrive with beautiful ambience . I basically look to it as my goto right now . I will buy it . For $99 why the hell would I not? Oh yeah, Vista x64 pc . Runs great. Your demo campaign is excellent too . Limit to 5 voices is enough to show the power of this awesome instrument , and make it useful for all the musicians but with more voices comes the true power of this beast .
Keep up the good work, KV331 . As for everyone else, TRY THIS SYNTH.

Hi
I tried it. Nice sound and GUI. Yet, a bit expensive for me right now
:P

There is no really a need for me to have another synt on my hard drive.
There are lots of really fantastic synts out there and they even
don't want to have a dime for it. Such as Oatmeal, Christal and so one.
Really no need. I worked with them an I would pay for them but as fare
as they don't want the money and this synts answer my needs and
fulfill what I want..... so

This is first time I hear about Synthmaster. Actually judging from it's name I first thought it's some kind of competition to Synthedit/Synthmaker. Had a look at the website, which I found not very promising, I had a look at pdf manual - nicely looking GUI. You know, you should slap a couple of screenshots on your site - lots of people tend to LOOK at the gear first, before even trying out the sound.

Added the free version to long, long queue of synths to check out.

ps. Just clicked on "about us", yeah, Speccy was my first computer too, cult hardware, sadly I fried my unit ULA one day...

I remember trying synthmaster free, pretty neat synth but a bit to clean for me. I think I would be quite interested if I was more into "modern" synth sounds. As it is the lack of "sounds like a Tangerine Dream vinyl"-vibe stops it from being the synth of my dreams even though I find it very good at what it's actually trying to do.

It's quite nice... and underrated as well!

Hey KV331. I just want to share my thoughts about synthmaster with you and all the participants in this forum. I knew about Synthmaster because I follow kvr news and you launched free version some month ago. Then I read Computer Music review. I've voted that I like this synth, and that's the true, nonetheless I want to give some constructive criticism here. I must say that I used Synthmaster free version, so I'm referring to it.
Here are what are, in my opinion, the weak points about it:
1. It is quite a beast of synth, with almost any synthesis type available. This puts Synthmaster in direct competition with other similar beasts as Absynth, Blue, Zebra, Tera and that is a really difficult competition. It is really difficult to standout with such rivals.
2. Its complexity could lead to confusion. Such operations that are easily accessible in other synths like the way to change the overall sound ADSR are not so easy in synthmaster.
3. the quality of presets. While the presets show a great sonic power they don't show how versatile this beast can be. There are not warm, swirly pads. IT is capable of FM but I've not heard crystal clear bells, it is an additive synth and I've not heard ethereal smooth sounds. Then all the patchess are drowned in effects. This is the weakest point.
4. The quality of effects. This has to be improved to stand the competition
5. the filters are quite rough. SOme more smooth algorithm would be welcome and would improve so much the sonic potential.

So I can see a real lot of potential in Synth Master, and I like the idea behind it. I believe that, if presented with more professional presets, it could stand the competition and that it has incredible sonic power. I really look forward to seeing its future development.
