Luna
MuBase (it's a good joke in fact
)
MuStation
MuStyle
MuTracks

Luna
my second fave from your list would be MuStation - I think the others are terrible...

I'm comfortable with LUNA, not sure how that affects my feelings about the others. Another idea have occurred to me: MuZuite (or MuZweet) Studio. Of the others, I could go for MuTracks or MuStation.

Yeah I think MuStation is the best of the Mu combinations there.
However, I have to admit, I kinda like Luna as well. I see how it doesn't seem related closely enough to either MuTools or its actual function - but it sounds nice.
What happened to MuJo?

"MuTools' LUNA Music Studio" sounds good to me. LUNA for short. (Oh, does the splash screen need the VST logo and acknowledgement text adding?)
Of the options, MuStation is the only other contender.

Muze (kind of a classical musical aesthetic) & MuStation (Muzys nex-gen feel) are tied for me.
MuTracks seems less than Luna already is.
Muzyscian, GREAT moniker: keep it as your copyrighted Developer Identity in case someone buys you out, looses interest and then dumps your product, so no one can get to said product(one day, without warning). 'Course that would never happen in the business world.

For me the only real contender out of the list is Luna but I don't like Luna Music Station. MuBase and MuTracks sound too much like the competition (and if you are serious about MuBase then I think MuTunes should be included - or MuChoons, if you are worried about an Apple law suit!)muzycian wrote:OK, which one is the best:

I can understand you not wanting to use Muzycian but how about Musition. I also think that Mu, The Mu and MuSession have something to offer, although you would have to find a replacemnt term for the existing Musession if you went for the latter.
I asked my 11 year old son his opinion. He thought MuStation and MuTracks were OK but prefered his own option; Mulody or Muledy!
Perhaps it is time to admit that trying to force Mu onto the name may not be the best way forward. I can't think of that many companies or developers who try to incorporate part of the company name in their product (e.g. Steinberg/Cubase, Apple or Emagic/Logic Raw Material/Tracktion). One noteable exception is of course Ohm Force (and they do it with style!).
Why not cast the net a bit further and open this up to other areas in KVR (the Host forum?) i am sure CM magazine could be persuaded to host a naming competition. (Speaking of CM, now that was a trick missed - CMusic - Jo, you should have kept that name for yourself!)
Just my twopence worth. Jo, the important thing is that you get the name you are happy with and that does the product justice.
