Synthmaster is better than a lot of more expensive synths out there. You can get the sound you want if you're willing to spend some time learning it, and fooling around with the tutorial presets. I like the arp function a lot - it's extremely complex to learn but you can get cool sekwenzor effects with it. I also like it for leads. I noted where someone wrote "Vst overload" above - I've got that, too. The main thing I've noticed is that it's hard for me to work with anything new that isn't really simple. For instance, Synthmaster or, even worse, Photone from NI. It's hella cool, but man, I need an hour or two to come up with anything I really like on it! Who's got that kind of time? These things should come with monstrous preset lists, or a person who does nothing but take calls: "hey, dude, make me a sound like on this one Kraftwerk record..." No I guess that wouldn't really work, would it? Don't get me wrong, I just love Synthmaster - I like a tool that will make sounds on whatever level you want to go to.

Hello,

I've been following (and using) SynthMaster Free since the RTAS version first arrived - there is a very minor issue with occasional graphics going slightly astray. That's not enough to spoil the product though. I like what it does and what it's capable of and I would definitely like to try the full version.

I would however ask that the easy programming page be developed even further - this would get round the often raised claim that it is too complicated. As a developer you can't win in that situation - a synth needs to be complex to be professional - but with a well set up selection of easy control templates, SynthMaster could help those of us with not enough time, inclination or ability to play with every setting. It is refreshing that whenever I've wondered "I wonder if it does..." the answer's been yes, so far.

As for why I've not paid for it yet (surely the point of this forum?) - probably VST overload again! I think an advanced easy edit system would help me when finding the right sound quickly - a couple of times I've simply taken the waveform and sampled it into MachFive to tweak further. That can't be right, but it works for me...!

Yeah sounds clean, pretty flexible but the interface takes a little while to get used to. but apart from that it's pretty usable and sounds great.

As some other people already said,
it would be difficult for me to cuurently justify a new synth purchase, even on sale, just because I already own several good ones.
BUT,
I must say that the mp3s on your site strongly suggest that SynthMaster is quite good sounding, and, more, is capable of achieving very warm, precise, and punchy mixes, which is a BIG asset :
too often IMO, a synth's preset in isolation sounds good, and so one thinks : "this is a killer", but unfortunately just after adding a few parts, one realizes that keeping a clear, balanced, detailed sound becomes harder and harder.
You might say that it happens to me only, bacause I'm not very talented, which I (unfortunately) would'nt deny, but IMO this flaw shows also in quite a few other synths' "pro" demos...
In this area, the mp3s I heard on your site from any synth.
So, if i don't win it ( ), I might get it anyway, later, provided that I have some spare money while there is a new sale !
Keep up the good work anyway.

I own and love it from the first day on. The price is about 1/3rd of a NI synth. The sound is very clean but not too digital. I would like more presets in the future.
Btw: works perfectly in FLStudio.

I downloaded the demo and here is my very first impression (I did not open the manual yet). By the way I agree that SynthMaster is not an attractive name.

I tend to like the design, but not the color scheme so much.
The interface is well laid out but this synth does not come into the easy or intuitive category.
The presets I sampled were fairly varied and interesting, and really motivates me to give it a little more type.
I guess I have to read the manual to understand why it does not react to Program Change events sent by my midi controller.

Synth Master is a nice environment - I've downloaded the demo - but I think the learning curve of it is a bit steep. If I could have my way, I would make a few videos showing how to get started-or just some ideas of working. Videos are far superior than any written material.

Yes - I won it for making a demo for SM and I really like it. The sounds that it makes are awesome in my opinnion (especially the soft pads - im an ambient guy), but the only thing that I hat is that it has some weird stability issues on my system. Still dont know why.

I'm curious to hear what the winners think after they've played with it a bit.

I have downloaded Synthmaster free, so far I really like this instrument and it very intuitive even for a beginner like me and i have managed to come up with a few tweaked patched relatively easily. But it can also get very deep and confusing. The developers tutorials are excellent and useful as a beginner. This synth also appears to get very deep and must have vast routing potential for swirlingpads, i have not got that far yet. The Sound quality is good, the built in effects are ok but I guess if you dont like them you can run it through external plug ins.

I've try Synthmaster with a synth guitar and the result is very good (all the vst aren't good for do this...) Really its better than the synths emulations of my unit...
