Hi Folks,
Currently LUNA allows you to remap a midi controller that goes to a plugin into another midi controller. (plugin context menu -> "Remap Midi Controller")
This is meant for the case where a plugin can be controlled via midi controllers, but the ones on your midi device are not matching, so you can map your real controllers to the plugin ones, and so you can control the plug's parameters.
BUT:
As LUNA also offers you the possibility to directly map a midi controller to a plugin parameter, i've the impression that the above option can be removed, it's redundant i think.
Agreed?
(NB: i know the LUNA PR 8.4 controller->parameter mapping is not yet perfect, as you MUST focus the plug for the mapping to be active, but that's one of the things i'm actually working on now)

That assumes that all VSTs that have MIDI CC control implement the same using VST control. Not that I know any that don't. Any benefits to removing it (other than less code to worry about, which is no bad thing)?
The whole MIDI In follows focus thing is a little painful and really stops LUNA working as a live host particularly well. (Just thought I'd say it again...

True, that's why it's being improved while you're reading thisThe whole MIDI In follows focus thing is a little painful and really stops LUNA working as a live host particularly well. (Just thought I'd say it again...)

Let me put it this way.
On Windows, this shouldn't be a problem. We have MIDI OX. There are also those wonderful little MIDI plugins whose names I've forgotten that also do controller remapping (and you can route them precisely).
I really can't see why the host would need to replicate the functionality. Stick with CC to VST mapping.
