Agree 100%.
Weren't we having these discussions in eXT1 days?

i had forgotten that these two actually worked in the first alpha release (1-dec-06). i miss them too.

- the horizontal scrollbar in sequencer.

I really don't get how it is supposed to be usable when working on a standard near 4:00 project.
I suppose it is bug... well i hope it is... please tell me it is just a bug. (in fact the behavior in ext1 was pretty strange too, source of my fears)
;P
Actually, xt2 behaves exactly like xt1.

Hope Jorgen sees this one as it is quite annoying...

+1 to the scrolling problem, it weirded me out when I first saw it, and if I were of a scroller (and didn't use right+click drag) this would annoy me a lot.

Post

- if you are zoomed in close, render to wav THEN after the rendering process the cursor jumps back to the start (also I think sometimes waaay out to the right) instead of remaining at the zoomed in portion

Post

As far as the scrollbar goes I'd like a small area with a picture of the whole song in the sequencer like this: (same for clips)

big pict here
the box shows what is zoomed in on and you can drag the edges or the whole box to control how much of the song and where in the song is shown in the sequencer

One thing I do miss from xt1 is the mouse wheel zoom. Perhaps you could use the zoom dot to scroll and zoom at the same time? Over is scroll and down is zoom.

Post

Hold the CTRL for mouse wheel zoom.

Post

ah... keep forgetting that one.

Post

I'm just checking the actions in the setup.
You can also zoom with the + - keys.

please no navigator view (or if so only optional) - imo it's only of use for all those sequencers who confuse you (so that you don't know where in the song you are) in the first place! The main reason I use eXT is that I don't get lost.

Agree +10!

Navigator view = nightmare waste of space!

That's the expense if one wants to avoid zooming in/out. With a navigator, you can 'jump' to any point of the song quickly since no zooming is required.
I personally make use of it within Live but i can live w/o it as well.

So yeah....+1 to optional.
I'm better than you. Deal with it.

in eXT 1.4 there are marker-tracks for this which are imo a much more elegant, comprehensive, complete, flexible and easy to use solution.

Also it's much more in line with eXT's 'workflow.

Yeah the marker 'menu' is pretty slick i just haven't utilized it much. I just zoom in/out.
What i REALLY would like is mouse up/down zooms in/out and mouse left/right scrolls (ABleton's method).
It's by far the best workflow IMO.

Having a problem dragging and dropping midi files from Linn Plug's RMI4.
Sometimes it works correctly but most often it drops an empty file.

On the up side it drops where you place it without creating a new track and a tempo track.

Miss the right/left click to set positions on the time line
Implementing (Scrolling)functions for tilt wheel mice would be nice
What happened to copy and paste in the sequencer?

Overall I'd say this is a very good update. Seems like there's a lot of stuff focused on working with loops.
