Hello folks,
I'm am on the verge of purchasing a Receptor for live performance as I hear this is the best route to take in terms of stability. I am originally traditional Asian drummer and wish to create a unique show where I trigger Asian instrument samples and non-Asian synth sounds/samples/loops via a set-up of electric drum triggers.
I'm going to record my whole collection of instruments and drums in a professional studio but wish to add effects, mutate, design the samples myself. I have seen videos of Ableton Live and was very impressed with the ease of its use. The intro. videos for Kontakt seem less impressive, but it does seem to the choice for many live performers and the only one of the two that "works" on the Receptor.
I also have Logic Pro 7 but its sampler (EXS24) seems to have less bells and whistles than the Ableton.
If I should decided to get both Ableton (for its sampling ability) and the Kontakt (for it compatibility with the Receptor and its ability to map sounds to my triggers), will my Ableton samples work well with Kontakt and the Receptor for my live show? Or is getting both a waste of money and I should just get Kontakt?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Feflower, I am neither a drummer nor do I use Ableton, but for what it's worth, I have had my Receptor for several months now and I am a HUGE fan of Kontakt. I have NEVER had it cause a problem on the Receptor. I have purchased 3rd party samples from Scarbee and KidNepro and still no problems.
So take this note as a resounding positive for Kontakt on Receptor. It totally rocks and Kontakt is such a cool synth, I just can't stop tweaking and creating with it. Even my bandmates are commenting on my new sound and how improved it is over my hardware synths.
Hope this helps a bit.
