Hi all :)

is there any possibility to buy (from Muse) the OS which is running on receptor.

I want to try to get an dedicated C2D PC running as VST Host with the rock solid OS. 8)

It would be nice if anyone can give me info about it.

I hate to say it, but its posted....like....everywhere.
I could just tell you...but that would defeat the purpose of learning.
besides the OS its using demands just that.

plug A monitor to the Receptor and you'll see its name after POST.

It's a customized version of Linux. As far as I'm aware, Muse doesn't make its Linux distribution available outside of a Receptor purchase. Hope this helps.

they don't NEED to make a distro thats a misconception.
they do have the sources on there FTP which they HAVE to do.

So a receptor actually runs native windows VSTi dll's under linux with the full fledged GUI and all!?

So why are people having troubles making VSTi dlls work under wine?

Most of the problems are either a conflict between the GUI of the VST and WINE, or a difficulty to install due to protection scheme.

So MUSE have re-developped M$ graphical APIs like GDI+ and such to have all these pluggos run? do they use wine at all?

WINE is what they use. As to what Muse have developed as such, I don't know in details.
