Two things:

1. Drag-and-drop samples to/from VST host
2. Basic sample editing (cut/copy/paste/truncate)

Thank you for asking :)

Does Maize Sampler support velocity layering? If not, it needs to support that because of the weighted keys keyboards out there.

What about wind and guitar MIDI input options? That way a sound can be strummed or blown as in wind instruments as well as played on a keyboard?

And yes to supporting larger keyboards, the studio I have been doing things at has a larger weighted keyboard as well as a smaller unweighted keyboard.

+1 on DND and wave editing..

That would be great!

Post

Yes, Maize Sampler supports velocity layers, as well as instrument layers and keyswitching.

I would like to see it have more sound design tools and modulations, so that filters and sample start could be controlled by velocity.

Post

Thanks for so many suggestions. We're now working at lowpass filter and filter ADSR.

Post

That sounds like a good start!

Cheers!

ADSR filter has been done. We also add note to cutoff and velocity to cutoff feature. And the detail control of the reverb effect and the layer names will also be available in 1.3.

Nice! I'm still watching, it hasn't pushed me over the "gotta have it" edge yet, but I'm closer...

:)

There will be more surprise in the future version!

Drag & Drop from sample list to mapping area has been done :)

Have you come any closer to figuring out the memory leaks (I guess that's what they could be called) that causes the CPU usage to stay high after you stop playing samples?

Post

Ability to load convolution reverbs would be nice, and a high. medium and low resampling algo for quality of sample transposition playback.

I'm not sure which version of Maize Sampler are you using. V1.2 has been reported on high CUP usage but we have fix that problem in 1.21.

I'm using 1.21. The problem occurs with 24 bit stereo samples (the CM kind). I have a "kit" containing 12 drum hits and 10 loops. When I start playing the hits, the cpu gauge on my computer raises to 20-30%, which is way too high for a 3-4 note simultainous passage. If I select a loop, it goes even higher. The real problem is that after I quit playing, the cpu usage doesn't fall back down. It stays at 30-35%.

Now, I've had success with 16 bit stereo files (mellotron samples) and a 16 bit drum samples where the cpu drops back down to 2-3% when not playing.

I don't know if it's just the samples or if I have the settings wrong.
