I've come to the conclusion that both you and musiclab are out to drive me insane

I'm glad to see some people are waiting for it.
I've been implementing things lately (midi input modes, finger noise on relesae for staccato notes, strings action, bug fixes, ...)
I focused on the bass guitar.
I think it sounds better and better.
It's not a vaporware.
I hope it won't be another "Guitar players, The soundclick MP3 demo page got updated !" thread
It'll take the time it needs, but it'll be released. I really hope I can do it before 2008.
I think it's possible, at least if released as a SE version. For a C++ version, I need some feedback from my contacts who have remained silent since a few weeks now...
I will now concentrate on sound, body emulation, behaviour, slap & pop.

Ha ha, yes, it's just I don't want to make false annoucements and get bashed afterwards
It can be sooner, It's not completely up to me in fact.
I want it C++, so I need my pro contacts to wake up a bit and catch the updates I sent them, or I'll have to learn C++ myself or release it in its SE version...
Unfortunately, i got to make a living too, and make important decisions for my future, so I'm affraid my time can't be spent 100% on this

Just want to say this project is not dead.
An old one with both bass and guitar:
http://mokafix.chez-alice.fr/In_Limbo_cover.mp3
and a more recent one with bass only:
http://mokafix.chez-alice.fr/lovelyman_cover.mp3
Drums are still addictive drums demo.

Just listened to the mp3 demos and the bass seems to be coming along very nicely - good work!
It seems that sample libraries are getting stiff competition from synthesized instruments these days. Synful, WIVI, Pianoteq, Guido's stuff and now this. Bring on a really great PM guitar and drums/percussion and I could retire all those hard drives full of samples.
Looking forward to the final release.

Just saw the YouTube video.
Nice simple GUI that allows for quick sound edits with just three controls !
Well done. Sounds very good too.

There are way more than 3 buttons. The video only shows the bass itself, but you can control almost everything (tuning, fine tuning screws, strings action, pickups rotation, humbucker and precisio pickups width, and choose from several midi input modes).
Yes Ziokiller, it's synthedit, and that's the reason why I can't release it, because it would be much better if translated to C++. I have 2 pro contacts to maybe do it, but had not many answers lately due to their own products releases...
In fact it works in it's current state, and as it's a bass, the feedback path buffer limit doesn't even limit the notes (it does with the guitar), but it consumes 30% cpu, even when resting, and takes around 45mb of ram, just because the plugin itself is big, and SE not really optimised...
But as it's really almost done now, I hope my 2 pros will wake up and tell me if they find it interesting and achieved enough to be translated in C++.

I'd say start releasing it as is... then when you are done with a full C++ port, you release it as Version 2.
Otherwise you could translate only some parts in C++ under the form of custom modules for SE, and leave the rest unchanged.
Anyway you did a great job with the bass model

I'm thinking this plugin could be the perfect companion for JamBass (future product of RayZoon)...

Wow.
If that's the progress of the bass, I say you've done a splendid job with the tone of it.
Is 'plucking' or 'slapping' possbile yet?
Also, on the example with the gutiar, is that using the same thing too?

Thanks guys !
But it would need to consider each string separately, and I'm not sure it does that for now...
And yes, the guitars are the same plugin. You can change each string tune as you wish, so I just tuned it one ocatve higher to have a 4 strings guitar.
I plan to make another plugin dedicated to guitars later, but it would really need to be C++. It will have 6 strings, a chord mode and probably some sound features more orientated to guitar.
Yes, I thought about it too. The fact it is automated and all could let it use the full functionalities (squeaks, hammer ons, pull offs, slapping, etc.) of my plugin in a more fluent way than playing with a keyboard.ZioKiller wrote:I'm thinking this plugin could be the perfect companion for JamBass (future product of RayZoon)...

Yes, slaping is possible, either by choosing "slap" instead of "finger", or by adjusting the velocity treshold that let you slap by hitting the key hard, from any playing choice (finger, pick..).MaliceX wrote:Wow.
