I would assume that if it's a self-extracting-archive, then it would also be possible to extract the dll etc via winzip, which is installed here.
Or does 7-zip have something winzip hasn't?

It looks like Rubberfilter.exe is a SFX archive, using the 7z compression format ...

Thanks for the zip advices. UniExtract works fine
But now it seems that Rubberfilter won't load in LUNA.
So i'll contact Christian about this.

Why the hard time for Muzycian? So he doesn't like installers. Neither do I. I've lost count of the number of installers that leave all kinds of folders and files all over the PC after an uninstall. They're long-winded and unnecessary. At the bare minimum you have to browse through and select the right install folder because I've yet to come across one that will install in the right plugin folder in Cubase - most seem to want to default to a higher level and create a new folder. It's only a couple of minutes extra work but it is still tedious and unnecessary. And then you have to search out the hidden files and folders after uninstall and clean the registry. I proudly admit to having no skill or knowledge about how installers are coded etc or how they precisely work, What I do know is that in 15 years of making music on a computer, most installers I've ever used cause me extra work and I don't like or want them. If I have two similar plugins with similar features/function/quality, I will choose the one without an installer every single time. I actually have avoided some plugins simply because they have an installer.

Check out the venom against installers in another thread on KvR on this same effects forum. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=184004 Sure, any coder can choose to use an installer, but they should then be aware that they limit their user base - in the same way thing like iLoks put many off.
Small functionality aspects can make or break some plugins. Look at DX for effects - I hated DX stuff and avoided it whenever I could. I'm quite pleased it's had a few extra nails put in its coffin. It was a pain to call up the GUI and it was a bigger pain to automate. I missed out on several effects plugins specifically because they were DX. Same with installers. The other thing is, I don't understand why devs use them. They must surely make more work for themselves and it only serves to piss off several customers.

wrt installers - sometimes it's necessary to have configuration files run on install - not necessarily using the registry, configuring ini files etc.
Admittedly, it's not often a problem for VST plugins, having said that, for skinning, additional presets, etc, it is often desirable to have an installer do all the work rather rely on a user reading and understanding a ReadMe.
Whilst KVR does make up quite a number of those who consume audio plugins, there are many out there who are not as knowledgeable and are quite happy for an installer to take all the pain away.
In general I am happy to give plugs w/o an installer. Betabugs stuff uses an installer, that was a group choice. My own stuff doesn't. However, I have an item which will be up for commercial release soon, which by necessity will have an installer due to the amount of configuration that will be needed post copy; and it's stuff that I am not willing to let a user tamper with and potentially get wrong - I would not want my good name sullied across the web because of incorrect procedure following... [NB, there will be no registry writing, and deleting the installation folder will delete all but the uninstall key]
In terms of usage, I don't mind either way. Unfortunately, I am having some problems:
The plugin does not recall any of it's settings at all in Energy XT 1 or 2. Not just the linked state but all settings. If I save the plugin within a project it reverts back to it's default start up settings when I reload.
Clicking the "link" button doesn't do anything visually until I move the controls on the "greyed out" side (ie the right hand side), once I move the controls the right side appears as it should.
Sometimes moving the db setting causes very nasty zipper noises. I have read the earlier post about not turning this control whilst using the plugin but it is also happening when the plugin has no input on my pc.
My PC specs: Windows XP (fully up to date) Pentium IV 3.02GHz, 512MB, ATi Radeon Mobility 9000 Gfx, Edirol PCR-1 with latest drivers (and same issues with internal card running Asio4All).

Sorry guys, I've been away for several days. Just updated the plugin: I fixed a EnergyXT2 bug and added programs. Due to a bug in several hosts they weren't able to load the preset if the plugin doesn't contain any programs. Now I added 4 dummy programs. Preset loading should work fine now in all those hosts. I really hate if there are bugs in hosts and everyone blames the plugin developer.

Regarding the zipper noise: The plugin was designed to act as static filter, automating the frequency should work without the zipper noise, but an automation of the order without the zipper noise is not trivial and would add a higher CPU load. If you need it sooo badly and if you have some cash to spend I can arrange that for sure.
