is there a way to get in there and program how sensitive the aftertouch is?

im working on a patch where everything is silent unless i press down hard on they keys...but right now i have to press way too hard to make the aftertouch go into affect...is there a way the aftertouch can be more responsive to my velocity? also can i put an envelope on how the aftertouch will modify my volume? is this something i would use the mod matrix for?

Most controller keyboards' aftertouch is very poorly implemented (BTW: I bought an Emu XBoard mainly because of the good aftertouch). See if you can adjust the AT sensitivity on your keyboard. Failing that, if your keyboard isn't sending ANY aftertouch data until you press very hard, there's no way the receiving VST can guess your intentions.

Yes and yes. Use an Envelope as modulator and aftertouch as "Via".

I recommend you pick up Novation ReMOTE 61 SL. I have the 37 key version, didnt think i would be using it this much but now i'm totally addicted to it and the 61 version is no where to be found grrrrrr, makes key scaling pretty hard.

I also got a CME UF7 (mainly bought for checking out huge multi layers) but it dont even come close to the response in Novation ReMOTE SL.

yeah, you might need a better controller. Lots of the aftertouch out there is closer to an on/off switch rather being able to be used as a continuous controller. Many of the newer controllers are not made to actually be played with any nuance. (and where the hell is polyAT these days?? we cannot bend a single note!)

I use an 'old' Korg Z1 as my controller and the aftertouch is playable and curves are adjustable. It cost me $500 and I have a fine synth as well. (which I hardly use anymore what with Zebra and all)

you know im pretty sure its not my controller because when controlling my triton there are plenty of patches that use aftertouch that work great. basically im trying to ask how can i change the sensitivity of the aftertouch on zebra?

You basically have to route Aftertouch/Pressure to a modulation target. Otherwise it won't have an effect. In the picture below it's routed to Osc1 Volume, which is a good place to start:

(routing it on Master Volume will work with next update... Master Volume is currently in the parameter range where the ModMatrix doesn't work...)

aside from earlier Korg Trinity and Triton models (I owned both, and the PolyAT was awesome), the best I've found in today's dedicated midi controllers is in my ReMOTE 61 SL... I'm seconding that vote. It's a bit expensive, but well worth it... It isn't PolyAT, but does provide "continuous controller" channelAT. Adjustable too, I think, but I haven't done that, so don't quote me

urs the patch that ive been working has that setting...where the atouch is routed to the volume...the problem is, is that ive got to press way to hard to make it take effect. ive tried turning atouch all the way to the right..and that doesnt seem to make it any better...any suggestions?
