Ok, I like the sliders, but the GUI wastes space on the center IMO, after all you can leave the sax picture as a background behind the sliders.
Of course my opinion is not that valid because I really hate sliders, they are f**king ugly in general to me, I prefer knobs on little GUIs. (hope that doesn't sounds too depraved)
Just my two cents

That previous update, the one with the about screen (it would be nice to see the actual version, BTW, so we could know which we were talking about) is back in Tracktion-error mode.

Hey William! We need proper version numbers!experimentfour wrote:pough - air and keys ARE [ive just checked] working fine in energyXT standalone [but not when using it as a vsti within tracktion]
e4, I'm testing the "special" version from yesterday in Tracktion and the keys and air work just fine. Mind you, I'm using an older version of Tracktion than you. I'm using 1.3.1.206, which is one of the last versions before the big change. For no particular reason, I'm still nervous/lazy about that. I think, actually, that I'll install the new one right now!

Still running the 'special' version because it works in Tracktion. I'm trying to put together a little song with a bunch of T-LeSaxes. The third instance, with its first note, was that godawful crashing sound. It's kind of like a demo's hiss, but louder and with lots of reverb. It scared (quite literally) the shit out of my pet bird, Eutychus, who is still looking a little shell-shocked.

Tubi is working mostly and sounding quite good but is a bit of a crashfest on my system in both Logic and Cubase SX.
I am using WinXP SP1 wtih 512DDR on a 2.4 GHz P4. I use Hammerfall DSP/Multiface -- latest driver 2.61
It crashed Logic and apparently the ASIO driver (forced reboot) with two instances loaded in Logic Plat 5.5.1.
Changing sax models while the unit was sounding caused a crash.
Out of 4 crashes in Logic in about 20 minutes I got dumped at the desktop with Logic unclosable a couple of times and "Pages Locked" errors a couple of times.
In Cubase SX, Tubi caused another hard crash when I switched between two Midi tracks addressing the same instance of TubiLeSax.
Both Cubase and Logic normally run pretty reliably ( ie without these crashes) on my system. The HDSP driver is new but seems stable with my other songs/VSTis.
Regads,

I'm really sorry to see that. And I'm very worried about all the problems people are having. Maybe is the compiler, I have to check that out.egbert wrote:Both Cubase and Logic normally run pretty reliably ( ie without these crashes) on my system. So far I tested all the above in my machine and no problems detected. I even created a song that switches the SoundSet while playing a lot of notes and using aftertouch, no crashes.
I will do a new test with new compiler settings.

Major Compiler Test 1
Ok, here is the deal, we will need to test a bit further on this, sorry guys.
This first test shows as 1.0 0.88 on the ABOUT box. I will update this values for each test so we know what we are talking about.
So 1.0 0.88 test is the same code as before, but I switched almost all the optimizations on the compiler. I only left CPU based opts, for MMX, SSE, SSE2 (only P4) and 32 bits settings. Due to that, CPU usage may raise on some machines. Depending on how this test goes, I will compile several files, all with different settings, so we find the best reliable and yet CPU further optimized one.
Please, let me know how it goes, and thanxs for the deep tests so far.

Hmm... I got all excited when version 0.88 loaded up in a Tracktion edit just fine. So I shut down Tracktion and loaded it again. I got the errors this time. Shut it down and loaded it a third time. This time when I tried to load the edit with Tubi, Tracktion immediately shut down with no error message.
Bizarre.
Bizarre.

new beta version [1.0 0.88] -
still throwing up the error on loading an existing project in tracktion
still no output from the air and keys parameters in tracktion [did you check out the .mp3s william ??? ]
tried in both the current version of tracktion AND then the older version that pough is using - didnt crash out like his did but still no joy on either of these issues
im now assuming that whatever is causing tracktion to report an error is also causing tracktion to block output from the air and keys parameters although for the life of me i cant see how this would happen [i assume the keys and air sounds are just mixed into the instruments signal before its output to the host - if this is the case surely any error that would make the click and breath inaudible would also block out the rest of the output ??? ]
as well as different tracktion versions ive also tried -
> switching soundcards to my quattro just in case the crappy onboard card was doing some crafty filtering
> sweeping the output of tubilesax with a narrow highly-boosted eq to see whether tracktion was doing any hidden filtering
neither of these actions produced any hint of keys clicking [the slider was full up btw] - the sound just ISNT present in the signal tubilesax passes to tracktion
im also wondering now if im hearing the full sound of daAlfa2k as it throws up similar messages on loading a project
this is getting infuriating now as i REALLY like the sound of the rest of the instrument and aside from this issue its working very well and is real stable here
did you manage to get in touch with jules about all this william ???

Will...remember that problem with the loop points? It's there in .88...
On Alto Sax and Alto Sax velocity held notes have either other notes coming in under or are noisy...It's more intermittent on the ASV one, but here are the problem notes...E4 thru A4, C5 thru D#5, F5 & F#5 are really noisy, and G#5 thru C#6 are also noisy...above or below these all other notes are smooth...
Played on both FL Studio and Cubase SX...Air is working only intermittently... Keys works fine...
On Cubase SX somehow everything plays clippy on the attack for some reason...
Anyone else have either of these problems?

Hello everybody,
just a note, it may be obvious or not, but we will looks first at the bugs reported from hosts with more historical compatibility, like Cubase,
I love Tracktion and it's radical concept, but I think that betatesting on it
can be ambiguous so far, leading to huge time consuming jobs.
