I just found out about Luna, Its very cool... it the ultimate minimalist recording/midi software... For trance, it seems to be a bit of a masterpiece....
A few months ago, I made the jump from cubase sx3 to tracktion..... and tracktion....... sadly, is just giving me a headache with the bugs, and I think I have had enough.... same with cubase 4.... I am thinking about just going to LIve....
But thats more of the same..... So many add ons, and gimmicks, and everything runs slowly, and just screens get more and more cluttered.....
I mean, this program, is jUst wow. Its nothing!! I mean, its everything!..
actually, its nothing with a 32 bit floating audio engine, a super nice screen, and fancy routing.....
So, I am trying out Luna free..... and Definately would like to know, what is going on with this program....
What is this pre realease stuff? Is the price going to significantly rise eventually?
are people finding it to be buggy, with serious plug ins...
I notice, with one of my plugs, the notes just go on and on, beyond the sequence, and the only way for me to get the music to stop is to press the panic button...
so, whats up with Luna, how are you guys feeling about it...
do you use it lots?
do people find this program to be buggy?

I used to think the internet was going to unite mankind. Now I realize the internet is perhaps mankinds greatest wasteland of bickering, greed, and narrow minds. " And we all shine on, " Imagine that.

Well, I'm just a tinkerer, so weight my opinion accordingly, but: I have little/no cause for complaint about bugs with LUNA Free. The author is very good about quickly fixing any major gaffes that show up in a new version, or actually pulling one back if there's a serious problem.
The pre-release stuff is just the fact that this is new and the developer's still trying out different ideas, working his way toward cementing his vision for the program. He's got an excellent track record, so if you stick around, you should find things developing very nicely.

I'll put a wager in that the price will rise €20 after the pre-release and release Special Offer periods are over...
The PRs are a bouncy ride at times - excitingly like a rollercoaster. Like DaveL says, Jo's trying stuff out and we're gleeful test monkeys. There are bugs. There are some bugs it's hard to reproduce. As a developer, I know those are the hardest to find... I play drums "live" through LUNA. Of course, that means I'm using a sample player. One of the two starts eating memory after around 20 minutes... sometimes. And sometimes I'll get "ghost" notes (ones I've not played for minutes) suddenly sounding... Things like that I live with - particularly as I suspect that part of LUNA is being kicked around for PR9.
But if you find a bug and describe how to reproduce it, it's usually fixed in the next release.
This isn't meant to sound negative. LUNA's the only host I use: the flexibility and ease of constructing a song (okay, not something I end up doing often) are great.

I am giving it a shot on the unlimited liscence.... Its a super fast, lite wieght program.... it leaves so much ram and processer available for synthesis. Thats what I like
