Will...while your here...I uninstalled, checked my folders, and reinstalled just to make sure there weren't any remnants hanging around...and this does not go away...It happens both from the keyboard AND in the step sequencer...Ford Prefect wrote:Will...remember that problem with the loop points? It's there in .88...
On Alto Sax and Alto Sax velocity held notes have either other notes coming in under or are noisy...It's more intermittent on the ASV one, but here are the problem notes...E4 thru A4, C5 thru D#5, F5 & F#5 are really noisy, and G#5 thru C#6 are also noisy...above or below these all other notes are smooth...
On Cubase SX somehow everything plays clippy on the attack for some reason...
Anyone else have either of these problems?

McLilith wrote:If they are independant, they will show the behaviour you describe above. Fixed-volume air and key noise would stand out more when you reduce the velocity of your playing. The air and key sounds would not get softer with less velocity, but the main component of the sound would get softer, perhaps even to the point of being dominated by the air and key clicks sounds which didn't change in velocity.for air and keys noise, just mind to reduce velocity on notes, since they work on reverse velocity, e.g. you can't hear air with note at 127 velocity,
key pads noise should be indipendent though from velocity IMHO, William?
Is there a chance that this is what's happening in the host you are testing?
I explain with other words: currently sax sound is directly velocity sensitive,
air is reverse velocity sensitive,
keys noise is reverse velocity sensitive,
"reverse" means that they get louder as velocity goes down, they are not fixed velocity,
but I suggest to have keys noise, only, with fixed velocity,

Ok, just to be sure, you did downloaded the new FULL or LITE installs on the new beta folder? If not, do so, since I did fixed those problems and here I can't hear those isues. BUT, I'm not saying that there are no isues, maybe I just don't hear.Ford Prefect wrote:Will...while your here...I uninstalled, checked my folders, and reinstalled just to make sure there weren't any remnants hanging around...and this does not go away...It happens both from the keyboard AND in the step sequencer...

Just a comment about the whole keys-breath sound volume. The synth is built like that, to sound like it was compressed. Like you do on a real Saxophone mix session. The guy plays loud, it moves the Sax away from the microphone, and reverse when it plays lower. So the volume is kinda constant.
That's it, that's why the Breath and Keys only appears on lower velocity.
I will include this info on the manual.

I fixed the problem I was having with TubiLeSax not being able to find the "scale" file.
There was some confusion on my part as to where to download the latest build.
Once I found the ".88" update, I completely wiped my install of Tubi off the hard drive and re-installed. I then applied the ".88" patch. Everything is fine now.
So far I have had excellent results in Cubasis InWired, SynthEdit, and the demo version of Yamaha's sequencer known as SOL2. (I'm probably the only person testing with SOL2.)
I have a couple more hosts to try out, but so far everything seems very smooth with this release. No problems to report yet at all.
thanks,
McLilith

william / liqih -
now that i have this thing working properly in tracktion i have been testing / doodling and have put together a few presets - do you want any user presets to ship with the synth or is the master liqih doing them all ???
if you want them [not saying theyre any good or anything but ... ] where should i send them ???
still cant get the thing to crash though
- even changing scales / root notes / soundsets on the fly doesnt cause real problems - although when changing soundsets while in playback the 1st one or two notes after the change often come out sounding somewhat 'off']

yes - it IS the 1.0 0.88 update version im using
when i say working i mean that i now know about the keys / air velocity thing and so can hear the 'true' output of tubilesax and play with it properly
im still getting the tracktion error message on loading the project file though if thats what you mean [but it in no way seems to affect the synths performance]
i thought it was the beta / demo differences that seemed to be causing that ???

I just downloaded the demo version of Tracktion, and I don't get any errors. But maybe I'm not doing right.experimentfour wrote:im still getting the tracktion error message on loading the project file though if thats what you mean [but it in no way seems to affect the synths performance]
I never used Tracktion, so could you please tell me what you do to get the error message?

Not to interrupt the Tracktion stuff here, but...
I thought the problem I had might just be the machine I put here on so I put her on my P3...same problem...

Just onet thing, as I pointed above. I'm testing with Tracktion V 1.4.0.38 (25 July 2003) and I don't get any errors. Ford, could you tell me exactly what you do (since I never used Tracktion) in order to see the error message?Ford Prefect wrote:Not to interrupt the Tracktion stuff here, but...
Also, is the new built 0.88 stable on other hosts in your machine?

tracktion [under XPpro btw] -
start tracktion
create new project
open new edit
create midi clip - enter random notes
load tubilesax onto that track
press play - no problem - the notes sound right
save edit
close tracktion
relaunch tracktion
project screen shows previously created edit - double click to open
edit starts to open - throws up 'tubilesax ... ' error message
click 'ok' to continue
edit opens normally
press play - no problem - the notes sound right
its just the [tracktion native] error message that is different - the plugin functions the same
and 1.0 0.88 is stable [and errormessage-less] on massiva and bidule on my system here
[what about the presets btw ??? ]

First, we would like to thanxs Jules for helping us out finding why TubiLeSax was crashing on Tracktion. Altought it was a problem on our code, and not on his code. Even so, he helped us out.
So...
New Update 0.89
- Fixed Tracktion error messages.
- Fixed Reverber loud noise (but needs testing)
- Fixed problems on loading new SoundSets
- Includes a .doc file now explaining how the .txt Scale files works. If you don't have such Directory or message errors appears complaining about Scale DIR, install the LITE or FULL file again.
Thanxs for the test so far guys. Let us know how this goes.
Also, have in mind that this tests on TubiLeSax are allready improving our code, therefore, new versions of all VSTs should be out with fixes to all those problems too.
About presets: Sure we would love to receive some, send to my email wk@dashsignature.com
And off-course we will include some on the final product, we just need to be total sure about how it is working before doing presets. Since sometimes we need to change the presets-variable and it messes all old presets.
Best Regards, WilliamK and Luigi Felici (aka Liqih)

I don't use Tracktion...maybe my wording was bad...I was excusing myself for adding my comments in the middle of your Track. discussion...WilliamK wrote:Just onet thing, as I pointed above. I wasn't saying I had the same prob as the prior poster(sound strange?)....I was saying that the prob I had on my main machine also happened on my P3 machine so it's not the soundcard...off to check .89...Ford Prefect wrote:Not to interrupt the Tracktion stuff here, but...
