Zebra2 and Receptor

I just hosted Z2 on a simple windows host, like Minihost, loaded one preset from Z2 preset browser and saved it on a windows folder from the Minihost own browser, creating a .fxb file.
Then dropped this to "drop installers here" on Receptor hd and clicked on the Install button on the setup page on R, this creates a new bank on wich the relate preset former saved as fxb compares a "receptorized" preset, so you can load it as for every preset present on your Receptor.
I suppose Urs will create a whole Z2 fxb library to install on R or maybe (sure!) he will do working internal Z2 preset browser.

I wonder if there is a utility in Live6 or Nuendo etc. to convert a whole mess a one time?nl3 wrote:I just hosted Z2 on a simple windows host, like Minihost, loaded one preset from Z2 preset browser and saved it on a windows folder from the Minihost own browser, creating a .fxb file.

I don't know, i'm making a test saving presets one by one on windows and trying to gruop them using dmbankmaker2, but supposing R don't recognize the fxb file.
Just wait for a few minutes

Hi,
from earlier discussions I assumed that preset management is best led to Receptor. It seems to be tricky to access preset directories. Not sure why, but as far as I remember from Triple Cheese discussion, I can't do much about that.
Btw. there's a download link for presets in .fxp / VST Program format:
http://www.zebrasynth.com/download/Zebra2FactoryVST.zip
Hmmm... how come it works for you while it doesn't work for Paul?

Hi,
Yes, this was since from TC early discussions.
Regarding Paul errors, i'm on a os 1.5 on R, maybe with new 1.6 could be an update of the Wine app from Muse
Maybe some of dlls manually installed on windows folder by me during past days test, or dll installed by other vsts i installed during the time on my R
Anyway, i'm testing Z2 during this day-night, so i have to experience on it on my R, i'll post for every anomaly here.

Actually, one strange thing is the absence of knob values in the big display. I'm also fighting other ends, and the "Preserve Patch Location & Name" improvement has scrambled some stuff big time
Nevertheless, I'm happy that there's progress and that we're moving in the right direction

Are there any discounts or promotional codes that I might have missed for KVR forum people for purchasing Z2?

Oh... cool!
Actually, there's not gonna be a change in the installer anytime soon... maybe once I find out whom to contact at Muse to get into the "officially receptorized" program, there might be a dedicated installer then...
As for registration, when you type in username and serial number, it saves that in a plain text authentification file. This file is located within the Zebra2.data directory. So, if there's a problem to register on Receptor, you can as well just register on your PC before moving the files over.
As for discounts... anybody who's helped in this thread until now may send me an email by clicking "e-mail" below my name. I'll then answer with a 50$ off crossgrade coupon
Cheers,
Urs

HI Urs,
until now and rapidly surfing thru a few presets, Z2 seems to work fine on my R, except for the (awesome!) "Organ'R Us" preset on Xmas Howard Scarr collection, and maybe a few others, where sometimes, if quickly playing bass notes on the keyboard, the cpu load splashes and remains to full 100% and there stands until i change the preset, when able, or until i restart Receptor.
Anyway, i have to know more about and inside Zebra own too, as it's a kind of new thing to me...
As consented by my working schedule, i'll keep testing Z2 on my R for next days.
Will privately email you for purchasing things.

Yeah... that's the infamous not-yet-fixed-but-hopefully-soon MSEG bug. This bug only occurrs on presets that have MSEGs in single trigger mode. In the factory lib, these are only Howard's organ sounds IIRC, as the factory lib was mostly created before MSEGs got the single trigger feature...nl3 wrote:except for the (awesome!) Btw. I've got one-click conversion of patch directories on my todo list, which will also help receptorization. That way one can easily create all .fxp out of folders full of .h2p
Only disadvantage: .h2p Presets that contain scripts (randomizers, wavetable generators) can't be loaded in receptor then...
Another goodie: I might have a Receptor around myself soon

This's a goood new for R users, but i fear you'll be joking with it and all working times will delay...Urs wrote:Another goodie: I might have a Receptor around myself soonnl3 wrote:except for the (awesome!) "Organ'R Us" preset

Yo,
A Receptor is on its way to me!
I hope to find out how to get my presets installed so that you can also use Zebra's built-in preset facility. There's a lot going on in that respect (see Improvements thread in my company forum) and I think it's gonna be pretty vital... with more than 3000 patches available on the net, there's really a need to organize stuff quickly...
We'll see... I'm curious to see how it all works...
Cheers,
Urs

Meanwhile, i'll be always testing Z2b2 on my R.
Good luck for your work, waiting for soonest news and hoping to be personally involved in some testing, if needed.

Hey, I just installed Zebra2 on my Receptor (yep, a Rev B with latest system).
When following the docs for installing Unsupported Plugins, I had no problems to access the factory library from within Zebra's gui:
http://www.u-he.com/img/Z2PatchReceptor.png
These are of course the .h2p files in Program Files/VST Plugins/Unsupported Plugins/u-he/Zebra2.data
Presets that are visible to Receptor of course have to be .fxp and go to "Banks and Patches"...
Do you want these visible in Z2's gui as well? Shouldn't be a big deal to add this stuff as well...
Cheers,
Urs
