yup Chris, the patch is called Glass Block and will sound alot more glassy when played at higher notes. I had to use that one because the congas are not done yet, besides that it has a nice tone at low keys so it was not a bad choice after all

The pure E-Piano clone is SPOT ON. However, I think the additional pad in the second half of that clip is much too bright - DX7 E-piano plus MELLOW "strings" is an absolute classic mixture.

Your right, the bright strings was only added quickly, its should be more mellow as you say

Today is the last thing in awhile because my summer vacation is nearly over and the brutal reality of life calls. Monday i'm back with my regular job, which is looking after kids and computers. I enjoyed these 3 weeks and have learned alot about Zebra, and thx to the lousy weather i had no problem confining my self to the studio

So as you can guess progress will be slower now, but as they say... all good things comes to he who waits

I must admit its been harder and harder to produce demos and not repeating myself and avoiding using Vol 1 but so far i managed.

Here is a snippet of the last piece i played with. It shows some darker side of Zebra and a feeble attempt at something symphonic like. (wish i had invented cymbals thou heh heh)

nopes, i have no idea how far i am, all i know is that i have a directory full of ideas that needs to be sorted and checked.

Thats a patch called Tonal Pulse, originally the patch is ment as a tonal heartbeat thing to add to drum tracks but for fun i added Conga hits on top of it and it came out pretty interesting. For those so called akward sounds to show you have to pattern program it because it needs to be on the right spot on each tick. The technical side of it is using LFO's to produce the heartbeat feel.

Last night i stumpled on something choir like, played with it for a long time and decided to move on to something else this morning. I think its a great patch for adding something special to a track:

Besides that i'm strugling to create a convincing acoustic kick but its pretty hard because of the phase movement, theres no problem if i add external fx like comp and limiter but getting it done with zebra alone is somewhat hard

In my book a bassdrum have to provide an 99% identical kick each time for you to control it in the mix. Snares and toms, handdrums etc dont have the same problem cause they need the movement to sound realistic.

Use only 1 oscillator, Phase / Reset = On, adjust phase to taste?

Been working with noise and comb, so no option for phase reset. I'll try again with OSC thou chances are it will come out synthetic but perhaps its just enough to get the snap in the kick. Gonna give it a try, thx for tip Howard

Btw. picked up my Novation 61 SL this afternoon and im sooooo happy since it turns out i can use both my 37 SL and 61 SL without problems. My biggest worry was, will it produce a delay between the 2 keyboards when played, but no delay so i'm now the happy owner of a 9 octave (61+37) keyboard
