Can't copy Kontakt2 .nki files up to Receptor

Hi all,
I've successfully installed the latest version of Kontakt2 - it launches as it should on my rev C v1.6 Receptor. I'm now trying to copy the sample library up to the Samples directory. When doing so, however, I get an error saying "You cannot copy the item "Violin ens 14 (stac 1+2 alt).nki" because the name is too long or includes characters that the disk cannot display." It's not just this particular .nki file, either; others give the same error.
What am I doing wrong? Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks - -

I hope it's not the brackets... pretty much every file that needs to be copied up has a bracket in the file name...

You wouldn't by any chance be using Mac OS 9 File Sharing on the Receptor and using a Mac yourself? If you do, try to use the "File Sharing" (Samba) on the Receptor instead. I have no problem creating / copying files named "Violin ens 14 (stac 1+2 alt).nki" for instance. And I'm using Linux and Windoze with "File Sharing" on the Receptor.

Olle, you're right on the money - I've been mounting Receptor's hard drive on my Macbook Pro (OS X 10.4.9) using afp, and not samba.
I've now tried mounting the drive via samba, but it's not working... I get the authentication prompt (i.e. workgroup/username/password), and after clicking OK with the username and password fields blank, I get the error:
"Sorry the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occurred (Error code: -50)"
My options then are Try Again or Cancel.
I've verified that AppleTalk is off both on Receptor and my Mac. I also have File Sharing enabled on Receptor, and Windows Sharing is active for my built-in ethernet connection; I'm physically connected to the Receptor via a crossover cable. I've also disabled my Airport card, thinking that having two adapters enabled with IPs on different subnets may have been screwing things up, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Any other suggestions?

I'm having the same issues as above. I tried transferring via afp on my G5 and macbook pro, but it says the file name contains too many characters. How do I use Samba to send files from my Mac to Receptor? Thanks!

Here's the solution:
Networking Setup and Trouble Shooting Mac / Windows
Network
Network Setup
* Connect Receptor to your local area network or directly to your computer using a crossover cable.
* Turn Receptor on.
* Press the front panel SETUP button.
* Turn the top display knob to SU TCP/IP Setup.
* Turn the bottom display knob to select you network connect type (Press to select, turn right to "YES" and press to apply):
o If you are connecting via a local area network select "Auto (DHCP)".
o If you are connecting via a crossover cable select "Crossover".
* Turn the top display knob to the right once to "TCP/IP Address".
o If you are connecting via "Auto (DHCP)" the address should be 192.169.x.x.
o If you are connecting via "Crossover" the address should be 192.168.254.253.
* Turn the top display knob and verify Windows Networking is on regardless if you are using Mac or Windows.
o Windows XP SP2 users: Turn the Top display knob to "SU Windows Workgroup". On your PC, select Start > Settings > Control Panel > System. Select the Computer Name tab, look for the Workgroup name and enter this as your Receptor Workgroup name.
o Mac OS X users: Turn to "SU Appletalk" turn the bottom display knob to "off" and press to apply.
Restart
* Double press the Receptor POWER button to shut down. Now power the Receptor back on to restart the network services.
* Try using Receptor Remote to access the Receptor Mixer.
Trouble Shooting
* Disable all virus, spyware, firewalls, anti SPAM programs etc. These may see Receptor Remote as an intruder to you computer and block networking to Receptor.
* Static IP (Windows) : In Windows XP SP2 select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network Connections. Right click on Local Area Connections, select the properties for "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)". "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" must be selected unless you are using Receptor in manual IP mode.
* Bad cable: Incorrect Crossover cable: An ethernet crossover cable is a type of network cable used to connect computing devices together directly where they would normally be connected via a network switch, hub or router. (For example, you would use a crossover cable to directly connect two personal computers via their network adapters.)
* Internet resources: User videos are available at: http://plugorama.com/customer/documentation.php
Mounting Receptor Hard drive
* XP SP2 users: Please download and install Uniwire v1.1, it includes the new Receptor Remote which has buttons for the Receptor Editor and Hard drive. If you continue to have problems select the HELP button and open Trouble shooting so you can renew your PC's TCP/IP address.
* Mac OSX users: Press command K, enter your TCP/IP address in the Server Address field to mount your hard drive.
o If set to "Auto (DHCP) enter smb://192.168.x.x (this information is in the Receptor "SU TCP/IP Address" menu).
o If set to "Crossover" enter: smb://192.168.254.253
* Mac troubleshooting: If problems continue it may be that you need to enable SAMBA or renew your TCP/IP Address.
How to Enable SAMBA and renew DHCP Lease or referred to as TCP/IP address.
* From the Apple Menu select System Preferences > Network.
* In the new Network window set the following values:
o Show: = Built in Ethernet TCP/IP
o Configure IPv4: = Using DHCP Select Renew DHCP Lease.
Hard drive
Problem: Cannot open hard drive but Editor works
Solution: The Receptor name cannot be Receptor, however Receptor-1, ReceptorStudio, etc. will work. Also verify Windows Networking is ON from the SETUP menu.
