Is the ZebraCM Based on Zebra 1 URS?

It's based on Zebra2 with 16 fixed osc waveforms and a fixed signal path. Urs has said the ability to load ZCM presets in Z2 is coming "real soon now".

6a sound like a thing emulating 6b
8a sound like a thing emulating 8b
10b sound like a thing emulating 10a

I just installed ZebraCM from my CM cd now and i really like it (It sounds so alive with a strong in your face sound).
The resonance almost fried my brain over here, while i was doing my standard VA test (so this one passed it without a doubt)

I love them both but the Virus TI makes me smile. The filters are just amazing to me. It will inspire you to write songs..... need I say more?

Well, you actually said that Zebra lacks "depth, breadth, punch".

I said that about a particular sound example that Howard posted.

I ask for .wav because the links you gave (demos from Access website, right?) were mp3s obviously made with a prototype or something. I could hear pops, clicks and glitches. If for instance Howard came up with an example where Z2 sounds better, I just want to take a way the possibility to blame it on mp3 or the state of the TI's operating system.

Opting out?! The demos are from the Virus website (for reference, the Dark_Side and Bright_Side patches) and even if they were full of pops and clicks, you know what: it wouldn't matter. I am not after a clinical exercise, it has more to do with musicality and character of an instrument. In this sense your criticism of the Virus filters, despite being technically correct, misses the point. The filters just sound damn good. And I don't know why. If this is magical/myhical whatever, so be it. Anyway, there is worse for an instrument to be than being magical/mystical, isn't there?

As expected, no-one likes the Moog more than Zebra or vice versa:

3: a = Littly Phatty, b = Zebra2
6: a = LP, b = Z2
8: a = Z2, b = LP
10: a = LP, b = Z2

Howard made these patches for MusikMesse... depending on the temperature of the thing they sometimes come closer or further away...

I'm tired now and grrrl + I are getting lost in Lost...

And actually... I booted up the Virus today... it doesn't take NoteOffs anymore... I guess it just dies on me...

If you like the resonance in ZCM, check out the XMF filter in the Z2 2.1 demo. That thing literally screams.

You still have to manually load the OSC1, OSC2, VCF1 and FX stuff. There's also something about not saving the OSC FX settings. beej had to make some changes to his ZCM+Z2 preset collection to fix this.

I can't begin to express how sick and tired I am, of people making posts about the Virus, as if it's the be-all-end-all synth of all time.

FFS, pick up a Matrix 12 or Oberheim Xpander, and play with it, if you want to hear what a real synth sounds like.
