With WinRar, did you check the compression box? That should give as good compression results as with 7zip - plus, things should still work for Mac folks using Stuffit.

The first file I had up of this was created with 7zip, and the version up now was created with WinRAR for the reason you state.

Yeah, I know. I was just wondering because you said something about the filesize - and IMO WinRar is (still) really good at lossless compression.

Btw, thanks for these, gonna check them out later on!

Ok, I see what you mean. I like WinRAR, but 7zip can get even greater degrees of compression. In ths case, the 7zip version of these organs was 26 megs, and the rar is going on 50. With only 5 gigs of server space, compression is a critical issue for us, so for anything that is Windows-only, we'll continue to use 7zip.

I hope you get some use out of these organs. Their strength may be their plainess. Thanks for your comments.

Wow, didn't know that, but you're right indeed, I just checked. I always thought WinRar would still be up on par with other file archiving tools - apparently not so.

If bandwidth is an issue as well, I'd probably break them down to separate archives. For example, as a non Sampletank/Wusik owner, there's not much need for me to get these files as well, and SF2 should be fine for SFZ users as well. Especially Wusik files (which use 32bit for sample storage, from what I know) are adding quite a bit to the file.
I mean, sure, for me as the downloader, having quick DSL access, it doesn't make much of a difference, but for you as the provider, it probably does, in case bandwidth is an issue.

Sascha, bandwisdth is indeed also an issue at times. Seperate downloads for the different formats would be a good idea, but under the circumstances of how this set came to be, I just ran ESC to get from the priginal sfz into the other formats so folks could have something in all the formats we support. The entire freeware line is getting redone next month, so this package as it is now is going away soon anyway.
