Hi Guys, I think this probably has an easy answer.
I just finished watching Ted's video "Sequencing with the Receptor" and was wondering how he was able to switch between instruments so quickly within Nuendo....sounds like only one click and his keyboard was already playing a different Receptor instrument.
I use Cubase in a similar fashion, but when I try to control my receptor in this fashion (setup 16 midi tracks in Cubase, corresponding to 16 receptor channels) I still have to manually change the midi channel on my Triton...was Ted doing this super quickly in this video, or is there a simple option that I am missing out on that would allow me to leave my triton set on a certain channel, and then just select the track I want to record in Cubase...and voila, here the corresponding Receptor track.
Does anyone understand this question? I love how quickly he moved through that recording and would love to do the same. It doesn't take an eternity to change midi channels on the controller but it is an extra step.
-Thanks in advance,
Matt

Hi guys,
In Cubase/Nuendo, every MIDI track has an input and an output. The input of all of my tracks were set to "All MIDI inputs" or the specific MIDI port I was using. I think in the video, I had chosen MIDI input 8 of my Steinberg Midex 8 MIDI interface, because the physical connection is conveniently located on the front of the MIDI interface, allowing me to plug in easily.
The output of the tracks was set to the Receptor, either via the UniWire VST plugin, or via a MIDI output on my Midex 8 (probably output 8, which, again, is on the front). Also, each MIDI track has a channel selection (1-16), so each track was set to a different MIDI channel, allowing me to just select the track to transmit MIDI info to a different channel of the Receptor.
There is no need to switch the MIDI channel on your controller, the track does that for you....
Hope that helps,
-Ted

Ted! Thank you! I tried this scenario last night with CUbase and it worked brilliantly. I guess my problem was with my midi interface before....I wanted to be able to play the Receptor with my Triton as a controller, so I had it routed that way in my MOTU CLockworks software (for standalone use). That causes problems when you bring your sequencer into the equation...so now I just have two "profiles" in Clockworks....one for standalone, one for sequencing.
Anyways, a hearty thank you for taking the time to respond. Everything is as it should be!
Sincerely,
