I've got my oldskool, and very pleased with it. I haven't had much time to check it - only the pads and the basses... there's some very very good pads, a little weak on the basses, but the pads.. damn, those pads are going to be used on a lot of my coming work! 8)

Thumbs up, Michael! :tu:

My focus on the basses was most on sequenced basses, so they are ment as addons. Only 3 of them are ment as main basses, the FM Simple Bass, Power Square and Thick Saw. But your right, they are not Moog'ish but more like Roland'ish. Glad that the pads hit your soft spot there :)

Very content with the new patches and Zebra.

On MySpace I put a page with a premix from 1 of the songs for a new album hopefully released early 2008...
http://www.myspace.com/ewaldkegel

and then choose the song "Introduction". It has Zebra's all over the place :)

One request for a new patch for -maybe- a OldSkool 2 release:
Since long I'm looking for a sound that comes close to the flute like sound you hear in eg

Stevie Wonder - Creeping
Mary J Blidge - All that I can say

Well maybe someone already created a patch like this for Zebra..

Hi Ewald

Was around your site and listened, very nice mood, its got a little mellow touch to it with nice chords and background :)

Regarding that flute, there will be 4 different kinds of flute in oldskool Vol 2, each of them trying to recreate typical flute stuff. They are not emulations but inspired by a certain tone. I like to have sounds close to the real thing but clearly within the synth domain.

I tried to search for a mp3 clip of that flute but couldnt find any, some stuff is no go for me since i dont use real player.

Michael,

Since you seem to be accepting requests for Z2 Oldskool ;) is there a possibility you will be releasing the patch(es) used in the "Z2 recreates the Virus thread"? Notably your Z3 Challenge 03 mp3, I personally thought it's one of the best sounding VST attempts of the Virus sound, the other being the Subtractor one.

I know they're not exactly Old Skool, but maybe you can get away with it by adding an "oddball" or "extras" folder. After all, you gotta put those 303's and phaser sound somewhere too... :D

Cheers!

Yap Brian they will be there, as you say, we better put those odd zebras to use ;)

I discovered trillion ways to create bassline like things and my head is spinning cause i cant figure out which method i should use to make the best default setup. Bassline types can come out tons of ways, so its hard to decide.
The Virus inspired patch will be called Viral Sweeper ARP. All you gotta do is adjust the MSEG length to fit the sweep lenght you'd like.

Cheers

In my Zebra2 presets - I have a pads and bass folder should I overwrite them with the oldskool or can I rename them?
