I'm not sure which version of Maize Sampler are you using. V1.2 has been reported on high CUP usage but we have fix that problem in 1.21.
I'm using 1.21. The problem occurs with 24 bit stereo samples (the CM kind). I have a "kit" containing 12 drum hits and 10 loops. When I start playing the hits, the cpu gauge on my computer raises to 20-30%, which is way too high for a 3-4 note simultainous passage. If I select a loop, it goes even higher. The real problem is that after I quit playing, the cpu usage doesn't fall back down. It stays at 30-35%.

Now, I've had success with 16 bit stereo files (mellotron samples) and a 16 bit drum samples where the cpu drops back down to 2-3% when not playing.

I don't know if it's just the samples or if I have the settings wrong.
OK, I'll figure it out. Would you mind sending one of your 24bit sample to cxhawk@gmail.com ?

In the export section the user should be able to decide how much should be exported.

I would like to export for example some things WITHOUT the effect section (reverb)...

Better yet, I'll try sending you the samples and the mss file. Check your mail. :)

caoxiang,

If you could add grid snap to make it easier to move samples around visually, visual zoning AND layering of samples, loading of .wav files, a trance gate, arp and some other effects, such as delay, chorus, flanger, etc, I'd say you have a clear-cut winner here. I'd buy it without a doubt. (hint, look at imageline's Directwave for an example of how they do keymapping - it's awesome)

Thanks for the suggestions. Yeah, we have learnt from directwave a lot. It's really nice and we are trying to do that

1) The export function should export all contents to one .dll file (including the samples and the .msb file).

2) In the exported VSTi the layer-switching maybe should be possible with 2 buttons (up/down) and not the Fruity Loops like "click-in-and-move-up-or-down".

1. Under some circumstances, sample library is very large(up to GB). It's not a good idea to combine the samples with the dll.

2. Yeah, the GUI of the exported VSTi is a little limited now. But we'll solve this problem in the next version.

Two little things:

1) Layer 01 should show the name i gave him and not only "01" ;)

2) I can't automate the volume knob or other knobs in FL Studio 7. The "last tweaked parameter" for this is grayed out...

All these two are because we are planning to rebuild export VSTi GUI in 1.4 . So the new features in main Sampler did not reflect on the export ones.

I just saw this sampler now, so I haven't tried it out yet, but it looks real interesting. More minimalistic than Kontakt which is a big plus.

I wondered if it's possible to apply some sort of timestretching algorithm?

There is a feature like this in kontakt, so you can play a single bassnote over several notes (more than an octave) before it sounds crapiole. Time Machine/Time Machine 2 is what they are called I reckon.

Good idea! With this feature, users could make their loop library. However, the time stretch algorithm is a little complicated and I think this will take some time.

I think that depends on how advanced you make it. If you were aiming for Live, Sonar or Logics timestretch, then it would be tricky.

But a simpler one, without any warpmarkers or anything like that. Whatever that makes a sample to sound good on more than it's own rootnote. Just like the Kontakt-guys have made it.

And in the future, maybe a more advanced one for loops and stuff like that with markers etc.

What is your ETA (estimated time of arrival) on 1.4?

I need to get some stuff done soon and I would LOVE to use this.

When you buy a license, is it updates for life or just major revisions (like V2 to V3)?

It has probably been mentioned before, but the MaizeSoft sampler could really benefit handsomely from a few sampler features.

I urge you to consider adding sample drag-and-drop (to/from VST hosts) and basic sample editing (cut/copy/paste/trim). People all over this site are clamoring for these functions in softsamplers, and I personally would be happy to buy your product if it supported these features.
