Hi

When I drop/copy the installer in "drop installers folder"

I get this: Preparing copy to "drop installers here"

The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items.

What do I do ?????

I have a receptor ver B. with os 1.5.20060418

The system log said:

*** Installing '/c/Drop Installers Here/updater-1.6.20070618.mrpk' - 2007-08-03 06:04:09 PM

bzip2: Compressed file ends unexpectedly;
perhaps it is corrupted? *Possible* reason follows.
bzip2: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Input file = (stdin), output file = (stdout)

It is possible that the compressed file(s) have become corrupted.
You can use the -tvv option to test integrity of such files.

You can use the 'bzip2recover' program to attempt to recover
data from undamaged sections of corrupted files.

tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
Failed: unrecognized '/c/Drop Installers Here/updater-1.6.20070618.mrpk'
--> Failed: /c/Drop Installers Here/updater-1.6.20070618.mrpk - 06:04:09 PM

Well, the error clearly says that the file ends unexpected. So, try to download it again, the file you're trying to install is probably corrupt.

Thanks Torin

I did a help ticket friday and get respons monday thats customer service.

Hey Jesper,

This may be an issue if you're connecting to Receptor via Appletalk. Please try connecting via Samba.

To connect via Samba:

1. Disable Appletalk (OS9 on 1.6) and enable Windows Networking (File Sharing on 1.6) on Receptor's Setup page.

2. In the finder on your MAC go to "Go" and pull down "Connect to Server".

3. In the "Server Address" field type in:

smb:// followed by your Receptor's address. i.e. smb://192.168.254.253

You can hit the + symbol to save this as a favorite so you don't need to re-type it in everytime.

4. Hit connect, it should bring up something that says "SMB Mount Target".

5. Just keep hitting okay until your hard drive shows up. You do not need to enter a user id or password, just hit okay.

You shouldn't run into the issue any more. Always connect to your hard drive in this way from now on.

Hope this helps! If you run into any trouble please feel free to give me a call.

Thanks,

Torin :
