This might be a "breakthrough vsti" or whatever, but it does not sound realistic at all, it sounds cheesy and fake. I listened to all the demos on that site, and they sound very bad, I don't think many people would use that type of quality in their music, unless they were beginner, or they didn't care, which is not many people. All these posts about how good this thing sounds are false. If you compare this sound to a guy actually playing an instrument, you will see this thing sounds like shit. For example, here's what a real, cheap high school violinist cheaply recorded for 80 bucks sounds like in a real hiphop production. All cheaply done for way less than that library with a cheap ass violin.

....but then again, most "producers" wouldnt have a need for a lot of brass, so maybe the pricing is justified by having a smaller market than say, a subtractive synth would....strings would be much more of a "breakthrough" vsti, but again, not sure about the prices.....it would have to come with an expression controller on my budget

not so cheap if you were doing a whole album with one of these instruments...

12 songs times 80 bucks is 960 dollars... and you cant keep the violin or violinist locked up in your basement... and this kid is pretty damned good so i doubt youd find it at any highschool..

and i guess you are the type to proposition high school kids, but im not.

this is a breakthrough vsti, and its well worth the price.

Hmm, it's still odd about your graphics card. I googled your card briefly, and I saw that it's targeted at Direct3D 8, and WIVI uses Direct3D 9, but I should also add that we've run WIVI successfully on much worse/older cards than that. Did you say this also happends in Software rendering mode? In that mode there really shouldn't be a compatibility problem. The graphics mode is switched through WIVI settings, which can be found from the Start menu.

well, sadly i'm out of ideas on what to do to fix whatever causes this ...
if you need a betatester, here i am (if the plug causes this, which i doubt) ...

The internal reverb is synthetic, but it processes early reflections and direct sound separately. A convolution reverb was originally planned, but we ended up with a synthetic reverb partly because it's so much more efficient. Another reason was that it's very easy to hook up WIVI to a external convolution reverb, such as IR1 or AltiVerb. But if you use synthetic reverb with WIVI it's much harder to get nice results. Since a lot of people will want to run WIVI with low CPU load and no delay, it made sense to include a synthetic reverb tailored for WIVI.

that reverb sounds just great, at least from what i could hear from the instrument!
it's well known here on kvr that i'm a real reverb enthusiast, so i'm not easy with statements like this ... seriously, you should consider to make the reverb availlable for purchase individually ...
of course i can say more, if i can try the reverb isolated on whatever inputsignal ... so the final judge is about to be given after that of course ... but what i've heard sofar is _really_ impressive!

Well, to me it doesn't sound like a real instrument either.
But supposedly the value is in how it "behaves" like a real instrument and reacts to all the variables.

Well I can remember the WIVI instrument is something has been already discussed here... Anyway I'm unable to try the demo, as I load the instruments it prompt me with an error message about Direct3D and the loading is aborted... I have the latest DirextX installed etc. etc. I remember I had some talking with the author but I can't still try this baby.
