Pretty much anything that can do more than just synthesize 2 oscillators with a limited range of effects is better than anything.

The problem is, the usability and output quality mediums. (ie: Most virtual instruments that do this type of thing are limited by computer/sound card specs.)

Zircon Studios has some dance-oriented presets for Zebra.

These are quite nice as well.. and call me crazy but in some of the sounds I think the mp3 encoding actually helps (makes the "fizzyness" of some presets sound less harsh). It's a little like in video/photo editing where just a tiny hint of blur can do amazing things to mediocre pictures.

he said the he thinks its better, not that it is better,

i would rather have a load of Zebras running than 1 virus,

of course i can sell a virus for much more than i can sell my Z2,

so if one was going for free i would get the one i could sell for the most cash

but taste is 100% subjective

i have read many say that so & so free synth is just as good as Zebra

(but i have also seen a few of them end up buying Zebra & admitting that they made there statements based on mp3 demos)

that's pretty good

just needs to be a bit more saw-y and it just needs some noise thrown in. That will make the middle part sounds more gritty and saw-y as well actually
