Hello,

OK, this may sound a little dodgy but i assure you its not! I need to know if there is a way to clear authorisation data for plug ins within reeceptor. I had installed my friends version of Kontakt (legitimate!) on my receptor - he didnt own a receptor, i did but i didnt own kontakt. I just wanted to try it out on receptor to see if it was my sort of thing, which it was and i went ahead and bought it. Now i do own Kontakt and i wanted to authorise it on my receptor, so i unistalled the previous install but unfortunately it keeps the registration data so when i try and reinstall my version of Kontakt on receptor it automatically fills in the details of the previous registration. Is there any way to clear the registration data in this respect? He now wants to get a receptor but it means that he cant use his own version of Kontakt on it!

regards,
James

I believe most NI products allow 3-4 registrations, so he should be able to use it on his receptor, even though it's technically registered on yours.

Since you BOUGHT it, I wouldn't loose to much sleep over the fact that your license is not registered on the Receptor. You can clear the registry of the serial number, but it involves using Regedit (or asking Muse for help via Plugorama). PM me if you need regedit and feel comfortable doing that.

Also, I believe the NI site allows you to "deauthorize" the copy that is on your receptor, freeing him up to authorize it somewhere else, should be exceed the number allowed.

if you have access to the Registry you just "clear" NOT delete THE old serial number.
and run the Kontkat Register App

Thanks for the replies. I managed to find a way that worked somehow. After i had uninstalled Kontakt i found that the installer was still sitting in the dropinstallershere/installed folder. I deleted this and the next time i install it prompted me for the serial number. Great!

Cheers,
James
