I really wish that when I dragged an .xtc to a track that the track and clip would get that name of the .xtc

+ someone mentioned 'midi insert fx' in another thread
+ route audio track to a midi track (built in envelope follower)
+ different recording modes, overdub, replace, multi-take (see http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=174332)

All those would be cool.
In the mean time you can use my enveloper to do audio to midi. And you can add midi effects in the component view
the recording types is a must for crappy live players like me.

A few more ideas, mainly based on things that have been annoying me in the past day or so.
* Two different sets of snap settings - one for clips / loop points and one for inline midi and drum editing?
* It would be good to have a default 'new midi clip length' rather than it just giving you something as long as the current loop. (I mentioned this upthread, but it's been getting on my tits a lot recently... unless there's something I've missed, if you want to add a single bar of drum fill while the whole tune is selected to play, you end up having to resize a 198 bar clip down to 1 bar.
)
* It's not a major thing, but is there currently a way of getting at clips that are behind other clips apart from moving the top clip?
* Could we have automation only parts? Like the old envelope parts?

I'm still missing NotePreview in the midieditor if I click on a Note in the Matrix.
Please Jorgen, implement it.
It's an essantial feature

+1 again to making the event list more like a tracker/spreadsheet for filtering/editing data.

from what I remember, Jorgen wants to implement a "warpable" grid, read "quantize to grid" feature. combined with midi stretching, this is going to be a monster feature.
(you can set a "ghost" grid and every midi part you load/record into it will not only be stretched to fit the length settings, but also automatically warped (grid grooved)!
I'm not in the "inner circle", so I don't know what's going on in his head, but the right implementation of midi stretching/warp able grid/groove quantization (both render and non-destructive) will be the crucial parts of setting XT2 apart from the other hosts.
especially when Live Mode is taken into account.
so I REALLY do hope that Jorgen takes the time to think about it and finds the best way to combine all these Midi related features, as for me they will make or break XT2.
as far as modularity and freedom (midi related), XT1 still sets the mark. but there are some inconsistencies I would hate seeing again in XT2.

+1 I'm waiting for the return of the envelopes and I hope we will be able to record them via controller too (with or without interpolation).DWb wrote:* Could we have automation only parts? Like the old envelope parts?

- multiple quantization grid (sometimes I play triplets among 16th)
- offset parameters per track or even per clip (transpose, velocity offset, offsets for CCs)
- Sysex support (!!!)
- midi jobs like filling gaps, velocity scaling to a range, etc.
- filters for choosing notes, CCs, program changes, etc.
- using midi inputs for function like key shortcuts (I'd like to call EnergyXT2 options via midi keyboard for rewind, play, split, etc.)
- realtime rendering for quick recording external effects and synths
- working native midi output...

This one is a real showstopper sometimes - it is like drawing a picture without seeing it... i hope it will be in there quite soon...-Preview with click on keyboard, add note, move note
